The PornHub settlement likely means the end of online home porn! The terms that PH accepted will quickly be adopted by the other websites. The terms include accepting content from pro producers and not "uncertified producers."
While the goals of blocking child porn and sex trafficking are good and important, I fear this means the end of the availability of non-professionally produced porn.
The article that I read strongly reminds me of what was published about Craigslist right before they removed their personals section.

I wish you worthless fucks would READ what the story is about before spewing hoopolah all over the boards.

Pornhub said it has banned uploads by unidentified users in an attempt to prevent "non-consensual material" and videos of children being sexually abused.

"Going forward, we will only allow properly identified users to upload content," the pornographic-video-sharing website said in a statement yesterday. For now, "only content partners and people within the Model Program will be able to upload content to Pornhub. In the new year, we will implement a verification process so that any user can upload content upon successful completion of identification protocol."

Pornhub also said it is removing the ability to download content from the site "with the exception of paid downloads within the verified Model Program. In tandem with our fingerprinting technology, this will mitigate the ability for content already removed from the platform to be able to return." The Model Program that has existed for at least a few years requires verification by Pornhub staff to prove "that you are real and that you are the one uploading your own videos."

Before yesterday's update, the webpage said that Pornhub "encourage all user-generated content that adheres to our Terms of Service," which ban nonconsensual videos and videos of people under 18. Pornhub is owned by MindGeek, a Canadian company.

Not word one about needing to be a professional production company or 'uncertified producers' whatever the fuck they are. Only that they want to make sure they know who is uploading what. Home video makers can post, but they have to prove who they are and that they have the legal right to do so.

I guess I was surprised to find out that these sites had been allowing unverified uploads all along.

One thing I wonder about is that a big part of Pornhub and like sites is pro porn that is uploaded in violation of copyright. If you have to verify your uploaders, does that mean that producers could try to get the real names of uploaders in order to sue them?

Would helping to identify pirates be a problem?

As a larger issue, I believe that we will have to come to terms with all online activity that should or must have an "identification protocol" and it would be treated differently than online activity that is conducted anonymously.

Meaning that anonymous activity would not enjoy free speech and other protections and would be subject to filtering and deletion and completely disallowed in certain forums whereas online activity by certified identities would enjoy protection.

Certified identities will also be responsible for the content that they post whether it is copyright infringement, slander, incitement to riot or whatever.

This is going to be the defining issue for online free speech and other online activity in the coming years. IMO anyway.

I watch Pornhub sometimes. They're the yellow and blackone right? :)

you'd really wonder about it when you realize that pornhub is run by one the larger porn companies. seriously. mindgeek owns brazzers and reality kings among many others. they also own several of their would be competitors like redtube.

Worthless Toad,
Using insult instead of argument is the sign of a small mind. Small minds have always lashed out at what they don't understand. Small minds are concerned with the extraordinary, great minds with the ordinary.

I read the article. I did not need to post the press release to understand that
"...only content partners and people within the Model Program..." will translate to professional porn producers and distributers. I fear and foresee the end of "all user-generated content."

Personally, I prefer to see real user-generated content, with all the flaws of real life. Real people. I will tolerate flaws in bodies, in filming, sound, than any accept of the slick, professionally produced porn. Pro porn is like watching a cartoon.

there are and have been several verified amateur performers on pornhub. been like that for awhile now. they're the ones with the blue circle with a checkmark next to their name.

Look up the account notsoamateur she has the body of Janine Lindemulder in her best years of her career.

Update

It has been about a month since the Pornhub settlement was announced. My observation is that ALL of the clips posted on xhamster appear to be professionally produced porn with a large influx of oldies and greatest hits. What appeard to be real homeporn is gone.

Maybe the Internet should become a Country.

That's what happens in the evolution of mass media venues. In a few more years, most porn sites will be as boring as basic cable TV, until they're forgotten as the next generation moves on to something else.

I've been thinking about how porn is actually ruining porn. It's all becoming so... milktoast. Take for example the niche craze for flashing the pizza guy or girl masturbating in the library. There once was a time it was all legit impromptu exhibitionist type stuff. Then it all slid down the path of being staged and lame.

Many of the homebrew exhibitionists realized they could make moolah even at a small scale and went to Onlyfans.

It's an easy side-gig. And to think that I used to give content away for free.

well, it has to be hard for them to make money off pornhub. it's super easy to get past their pay to download stuff and get shit they want five dollars or more for for nothing.

Hmpf. Back in my day it was considered racy for girls to wear skirts above the knee. Nowadays girls walking around in bikinis with ass hanging out. Kids today, I tell ya. /s

Which makes sense. And as islandman says...

I'm am having a thought I doubt will go any further than this, but I'm entertained with how things like camming and the sort was once this salacious little secretive thing done for one's own desire for turning other's and them selves on... became, Yeah well this is how I make money now.

I'm joking about being on OF, of course.

However, I have a friend who makes a decent bit of coin from it. Every day she gets requests for pics or custom content with an accompanying monetary compensation suggestion. She can accept or decline or haggle. In the past year she's paid off an incremental $15K on her home mortgage just by snapping pics of her toes (usually in some form of bondage).

Feet fetishists pay top dollar, don't you know.

feet fetishists ruined my interest in cute feet. fuckers are creepy.

That'll be $20K for a 6-month sub and 24/7 access to her snapchat.

She accepts bitcoin.

heck, i would do of if i was younger

its a great way to make money

Age is no excuse.
your av and profile pic serves to be great advertisement.

Hell.... I bet you could be all like "Join my Onlyfans to see videos of me wrapping my hair around a banana!" And a particular group of guys would be all like... "Take my money!"

And really that's all you need. A particular group of guys. Cater to them--they will feed you forever.
