Extremist lawyers in Texas (somewhat surprisingly, NOT including nutcase Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton) have petitioned the Supreme Court to provide original jurisdiction because the state of Texas wants to sue both Michigan and Georgia over their respective voting totals.

In essence, Texas wants the Supreme Court to overturn Michigan and Georgia voters.

No this doesn't make any sense....but it shows just how desperate the Trump team has gotten in their attempts to get something....ANYTHING...in front of Amy Covid Barrett.

That's what happens when governors and (D)ictators try to change the rules at the last min so they can win.

Only those states legislatures had the authority to do a bunch of the shit they did that allowed Joe to win.

If you read it, I have a feeling there is going to be a LOT of teeth gnashing over rule of law and democracy.....from the Democrats.

BTW love how anyone who doesn't just submit to (D)ictatorcrat will is labeled an "extremist" LOL.

or NUTTY

Paxton himself is, of course, currently indictment. This "lawsuit" has more with him trying to curry favor with Cheeto Mussolini to score one of those friends-and-family prospective pardons than anything else.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It is a naked attempt to help the fascist, curry favor and get a pardon

Another PA suit thrown out today. These krakens just ain't what they used to be.

more like dead jellyfish.

but by tying up the courts with these outlandish claims, even right up till he leaves office, he continues to sow the seeds in the heads of his weak-minded followers that the election results are contested and not a certainty, so something to fight against (aka 'donate more money to line trump's pockets for trump's debts to get paid off)

You don't have to be a states' rights absolutist to know that this suit is stillborn.

What is Trump using, to blackmail Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton,
into entering such folly ?

"Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed an eleventh-hour suit in the
U.S. Supreme Court, seeking to overturn election results in four states."

Texas AG Paxton Sues Battleground States in Another Attempt
To Keep Trump In Office

In the lawsuit, Paxton asks the Supreme Court to “delay the deadline for the
appointment of presidential electors” by the states in question, hoping that
their state legislatures — all run by Republicans — would then be granted
the authority to choose which electors are sent to the Electoral College.

This paper has the goods, on Paxton's Texas sized corruption.

Paxton is currently under federal investigation for a bribery scandal uncovered
after several of his top Republican lieutenants in the AG’s office blew the whistle
on their boss, many of whom were fired or pressured to resign in retaliation.

And on top of that, Paxton is still under indictment for alleged securities fraud for
an investment scheme he cooked-up over five years ago, so there’s plenty of reasons
why he’d want to shift the public’s attention away from those cases.

There’s a non-zero chance he might be fishing for a pardon from Trump in the
president’s final weeks in office.

The desperation among Cult-45 members is palpable, including the desperation of Lit's own Cult-45 members like BoBo.

Why do they hate American democratic values so much?

Because with democracy, they lose. That's why they've only won the popular vote in one of the past eight elections, and that was only with a wartime incumbent.

^^ justifies Schumer calling for Biden to subvert democracy and act like an autocratic dictator.

He continues to lose impulse control at an alarming rate. I hope he doesn't take his frustrations in life out on his newly retconned step kids.

I suspect he is actually quite submissive around his retconned family, that would explain his aggressiveness on the board.....it is the only outlet when your locked in chastity....;)

The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram editorial suggests that California should sue Texas over their voter ID laws.

Nothing. This is the same as the article Barr wrote to get Trump's attention and and the AG job. Paxton, already under state indictment, is now being investigated by the FBI. He wants one of Trump's Christmas present pardons. The lawsuit is just to get Trump's attention.

Looks like 17 states now on board with Tejas....looks like (D)'s might have to start following the rules, that's bad fuckin news for them.
