...is to be able to hibernate in peace, but global warming has disrupted the sleep cycle...

no idea where it goes from there.

My brain is weird sometimes.

The monster sleeps for a thousand years normally, and then he moves over the oceans, land, and air to dominate and fuck men and women with its tentacles.

It needs a certain number in order to go to sleep, and its sleep pattern is disrupted and he needs more now.

"....More, ... I need MORE!"

and here I was thinking sympathy for the poor tentacle monster, and you take it someplace dark...

Well, normally he sleeps, but the global warming and rising oceans caused him to awaken, and he is only cranky because he is tired.

We asked for it...lol

Joy, we need JOY. In my world, tentacle monsters need to be fun...oh sure, they start out scary, but, mmmmm...those tentacles :)

Here's a funny plot

Tentacle monster comes across an activist trying to rescue octopi in a dying coral reef. Offended that she's catching his cousins into containers, he decides to do the same in return. Snatching her for a terrarium that he builds in the chasm below the shallow water shelf. They start communicating. First about what she needs, then why he's punishing her, then he realizes that he should return her back to shore, but he doesn't want to b/c she's kind of cute. She's probably seriously under the thrall of Stockholm syndrome at this point.

*Incidentally, octopi/squid (can't remember which right now) can change their own DNA, so if he's related, well then in a sci-fi world, he can make a few changes...not too much, b/c there's a reason why we love tentacle stories!*

"seriously in the thrall of Stockholm syndrome"....is that some sort of new euphemism?

The TM was exposed to post-WWII radiation and mutated, giving her the power to morph into human form except for the sucker-pads on her arms. She always wears long sleeves except when mating with a few dozen human males, each enjoying a suck-off and gifting her with their high-protein ejaculations. Hey, a girl's gotta eat what she's gotta eat!
