If the Dems capitulate and agree to another meaninglessly small stimulus payment, it won't help the economy a bit and it will strengthen the do-nothing right's resolve not to compromise at all next time. I’m generally very loathe to compromise at all, and yes, Republicans need to make significant concessions, but the fact that Pelosi isn’t even trying to cut a deal when the economy is at the brink is very reckless and irresponsible of her, too.

Maybe it doesn’t look desperate for the managerial elite, but for those facing ruin, it absolutely does.

Many other similar products are also backordered. We read of people being desperate for money, yet they're buying larger ticket items at a pace that businesses can't keep up with.

Are some small businesses suffering? Yes. There is no doubt about that. Primarily on site service related businesses like small restaurants. Some tourism related places like breweries that can't or won't do site tours, yet their production remains active.

Lumber is nuts. Prices have doubled or in some cases tripled since June. Mills and trucking services are running three shifts to get it to the stores. People buy it as soon as it arrives. Housing starts are insane ... a year out to even begin construction.
