What Will the Biden Term Be Like?

Winning the Presidency may have been the worst thing for the Democrat Party. We all agree that Mr. Biden will serve no more than one term. There would be no surprise if he didn't even complete that. His VP is like an even less qualified, less likeable female version of Barack Obama, whom the voters already rejected. The Democrat Party has burned too many bridges for there to be any real bi-partisanship. The Democrats are losing influence in Congress and will lose more in the 2022 mid-term elections. The China Virus will be a huge burden on the administration because their efforts won't yield results. Ironocally the Trump Vaccine will probably bail them out to an extent. After a four year glimpse at life under the Democrats, and the fact that half the voters supported the opponent, I expect the Republicans and sanity will prevail in 2024.

I don't know about Republicans and sanity; anyone intent of ruling us seems to be touched with the condition loosely termed, Delusions of Grandeur. Only moral busybodies and the ruthlessly ambitious feel booted, spurred and born to ride us. I don't think that it is limited to one party.

Barack Obama, whom the voters already rejected.

I think you are confusing him with a one-term Republican loser.

You might want to consider taking some supplements to stave off early-onset dimentia.

Biden has his work cut out for him, restoring American prestige around the world after Trump's bungling on the world stage.

I'm just glad we have an adult handling the Covid virus response now.

And so commences the internecine squabbling over the scraps from Longshank's table...

Congressman-elect Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., indicated on Thursday that President-elect Joe Biden owed Black and Brown people after they helped elect him.

...

"Joe Biden has pledged a $2 trillion investment in environmental justice and 40% of that has been pledged to districts like mine across the country," Bowman said.

Biden pledged $2 trillion for climate investments. It includes a provision for "disadvantaged communities" to receive 40% of "overall benefits of spending" in various areas.

"That 40% has to be part of a 'Green New Deal' that rebuilds Black and Brown communities across this country ... we need jobs, we need infrastructure, and we need those jobs to go to Black and Brown communities," said Bowman. "Black and Brown communities organized across the country to make sure Joe Biden won the White House, and he did that, but now it's time for payback. And now it's time to make sure that we invest the resources necessary to rebuild our nation in a way that is representative of all of us, so we can truly have the people's house."

Two trillion here, two trillion there, eventually it will add up to some real money...

Iran will launch a missile attack against US troops and Biden will shit his pants. :D:cool:

An "articulate" administration...

“We discussed the need to help states with Title 32 funding for the National Guard. That’s the fancy way of saying governors, governors need to be able to get funding when they disp— when they dis— they need to, uh, and, and, bring their, bring their National Guard into play,” Biden said.

Biden: "I’m going to — we’re going to impose the — we’re going to enforce the — excuse me, employ the defense, reconstruct the act, to be able to go out there and dictate companies build and do following things."

:nods:

Nothing can change the fact that Donald Trump is Barack Obama's legacy.

I have not heard anything from him other than the usual platitudes and a warning of a long dark winter. At least the outgoing administration gave us the Trump Vaccine. It gave us hope.

You’re confusing the Trump Administration with Pfizer.

Clinton got three million more votes than Trump, but somehow in your brain that’s rejection of Obama.

I don’t expect rationality, I’m just trying to follow your train of thought.

Wars, many wars!

Terrorist attacks on US

Illegals flood the country

Riots and burning cities

I'm sorry. Who was elected President?

I noticed you left out Moderna. No matter how hard you try, you can't deny the fact that a vaccine to a novel coronavirus was developed in historically unprecedented time under the leadership and support of the Trump Administration. IMO you would be jizzing all over yourself in the unlikely event a Democrat administration somehow figured this out. Andrew Cuomo's response to the development of the vaccine is typical of the Democrat response.

Correction: It gave hope to those where were not already dead or critically ill as a result of super-spreader events and piss-poor control of viral transmission.

That concept is probably difficult for memory care patients to understand.

You are correct in one regard: a vaccine was developed in record time.

There was an article I read the other day (I'll link it when I'm motivated) that had a virologist explaining the confluence of events that made this possible:

  • Securing a budget, profitablity analyses.....both were "done deals"
  • Finding and securing a broad spectrum of trials volunteers...this was the big one, people around the globe turned out volunteering for trials (40K!)
  • And finally, give the Trump administration credit (so far) for having the cost of distribution borne by the Federal government (that entity BoBo hates and sez has no business dealing with anything regarding viruses). This was not altruistic on Trump's part....he thought he could leverage this to ensure a second term in office. Ooopsie!

You don’t know? I’m sorry to tell you that Trump was elected in 2016.

You posted this: “His VP is like an even less qualified, less likeable female version of Barack Obama, whom the voters already rejected.” It sounds like you meant to refer to Hillary Clinton, except for the fact that the voters did not reject her, but actually favored her over Trump.
