Joe Biden, who once referred to his surviving son as "the smartest man I know," hinted at Thursday's press conference that, much like his predecessor, he would have a prominent role for family members as advisors.
Biden wasn't specific, but after the presser an insider said Hunter could resume his lucrative career as an influence peddler, and is already targeting a couple of large banks in China with direct ties to the ruling communist party.
The difference, the insider said on condition of anonymity, is that the arrangement to enrich the Biden family solely for access to the president, is that all of it will be done openly.
"If Joe and Hunter clear, say, a half-billion for a trade deal favorable to China, they'll pay top dollar on their taxes and won't look for every little loophole," the insider said. "That's Joe's solemn promise to America."
