https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-discussed-replacing-electoral-college-with-loyalists-nyt-2020-11

President Donald Trump has asked top aides about a wild plan that involves replacing electors in swing states with loyalists to secure himself a second term, The New York Times reported on Thursday.

The Times report came hours after Business Insider reported that the plan was gaining currency among Trump allies.

The plan hinges on Republican state legislatures deciding to ignore the states' results and instead send a new group of electors to the Electoral College who would cast their votes for Trump.

This is who the republicans support.

More hair on fire bullshit!!

"It was not a detailed conversation, or really a serious one," and did not reflect any "obsessive desire" of Trump to remain in office, the report described the sources as saying."

The reality is that Trump floated the idea.

The man you support as president of the United States wanted to overrule the vote by stacking the EC.

He wanted it. He asked about it. He considered it.

And you are, once again, equivocating for it.

Insanity.

Cult-45 members hate democracy.

Yep, and even support armed removal of a duly elected person...

This came up nearly a month ago. Trump campaigners actually went to the Republican legislatures in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania to float that proposal.

Trump's coup attempt has been in planning for some time.

Correct. And the republicans still support him.

Trump is terrified, as are the rest of the tax evading corporate class.

Do people really think Trump is the only "rich" person with something to hide??? How many of the 70 million Trump supporters cheated on their taxes???

Why do people think the IRS has been gutted over the past many years.

If Trump goes down its going to be like dominos.

More bullshit.

Nope, sorry.

In Pennsylvania, three Republican leaders told me they had already discussed the direct appointment of electors among themselves, and one said he had discussed it with Trump’s national campaign.

“I’ve mentioned it to them, and I hope they’re thinking about it too,” Lawrence Tabas, the Pennsylvania Republican Party’s chairman, told me. “I just don’t think this is the right time for me to be discussing those strategies and approaches, but [direct appointment of electors] is one of the options. It is one of the available legal options set forth in the Constitution.” He added that everyone’s preference is to get a swift and accurate count. “If the process, though, is flawed, and has significant flaws, our public may lose faith and confidence” in the election’s integrity.

That is what Trump and his minions always say when their trial balloon crashes and burns. They floated the idea to see if they could get away with it. If they'd seen any reason to believe they could, you'd bet it would be a serious and detailed conversation.

I'd ask you for evidence of that, BB, but we both know you would just post a link to Hillary Clinton or some other prominent Democrat saying something completely different from what you claimed, and you would just say your version was "what she really meant".

Of course Trump wants to stay in office (without doing the work). He's very much aware he has multiple-dimension civil and criminal investigations and trials waiting for him. Some of them will exceed the statue of limitations if he can hold on for four more years. It's all about him.
