Nothing to contribute to what that's called, seems like others have captured it. Only want to observe that even if you were able to name it accurately, you'd likely still need to find a way to describe what it looked like (which might already be your plan).

It's like using the phrase "jackknifed" to describe the motion of a truck, or "second position" to describe a ballet stance. If you're writing for readers who know, they'll know, but if you want every reader to be able to visualize the specific action, it probably needs defining.

Yes it does, and I'm still trying to finish off the Valentine's Day story that I wrote for the 2016 contest and then let the readers convince me to turn into a series. I've committed myself to finishing it before I write anything else, and it's getting tough.

I'm with ChasPHX, especially since the gesture doesn't seem to have a simple common name. It's easier to describe the motion ("he clasped his hands over his head") than it is to name the gesture.

If you don't know what it's called, your readers might not know either.

I'm with the crowd that says just to describe it. Or? Just suggest it. I doubt whether or not his hands are clasped is more important than the fact that he's feeling triumphant.

On a completely tangential vector, it is impossible to clench your hands, or practically anything in boxing gloves whether over your head or not.

That is why boxers raise their arms in victory and they touch gloves to start a match.

I don't know? Can we even write a believable account of our demise? How will we find our eloped memories if we keep forgetting that we lost them? How can we call friends we don't remember. I'm getting more concerned now than before! I think I'm going to be proactive and try to find some ID around the house — then I'll make tag with my name and address on it for my neck.

UPDATE: I found a drivers license but I don't recognize the ugly lowlife creep in the photo Maybe I'm in the wrong house? Whoever this guy is, I see that he's stolen some of my underwear too

Oh it's so easy to laugh until it happens to you And for what it's worth, I've calmed the moose and the squirrel down with a bunch of the pills my doctor gave me. Bad news is; I've somehow misplaced my wool socks and the winter SOREL boots — so children, my advice is; don't try to console either moose or squirrels in bare feet with snow on the ground.
