Very frustrated to hear all pundits gnashing teeth over the 2020 results when the explanation is so simple: republicans like myself who view the Party as bigger than any 1 person, voted GOP down-ballot but witheld votes for Trump.
Why, you ask, would thousands and thousands of republican voters do this??
This was mainly because with the last SCOTUS appointment, Trump has now placed all likely judicial openings to firmly establish conservative views on our highest court, and we are now done with him as a blunt instrument to make that happen. Anyone who manages others or runs their own business would never hire someone who conducts themselves like Trump, but he was an empty, manipulable vessel to achieve our SCOTUS ends. Now that is done, he has outlived his usefulness and justifiably failed to get the support we gave down-ballot to the GOP. His SCOTUS appointments (none of which I’m sure he even had his own thoughts about, but rather was fed names strategically, and then he just performed as needed by pushing nominations), will now live long past this current madness.
With the high court now stacked in favor of conservatism, I want my Republican Party to find a Reagan type now to restore credibility in the great party.
I know many, many other republicans who split the ballot for this reason, yet it’s never talked about.
Before you all ask, yes, I am a registered republican, pay all my taxes, am a law abiding citizen, and a law abiding gun owner....I don’t ally with far left thinking, but I do require a leader who can bring growth and pride for the country, versus continued disgrace and embarrassment.
GOP rebuild!
