What do you not miss in these times of Covid? What positives have you gained?

I do not miss rush hour traffic.

We are spending far less money these days on gas, lunch, fancy coffees, etc.

1. There are fewer innocent people in the United States being mowed down in schools, concert halls, churches, and theaters.

2. The air pollution has gone down.

Curbside pickup, I’m hoping they keep that.

I hate grocery shopping.

I have not tried this, but know lots of folks that swear by it. I tend to go shopping in off hours, and I’m not so sure I trust others to pick out my produce for me.

Both big positives. How much of the country’s air is affected by the wild fires I wonder.

Working from home.

What a godsend that's been.

Do you find yourself getting burned out occasionally? My fella had, but moving him on to the oldest’s sleeping porch now that she’s away at school has helped. Do you have your own office?

I wanna say due to isolating at home 90% of the time, the reflective fallout from that was cooking more and accessing my inner domestic Bourdain, but that comes in cycles...I did tons of kitchen activity at the start of the crisis. At the moment my neighborhood takeout ratio is very high!

good thing is that it's still relatively inexpensive as opposed to getting meals back in the city when I did the office grind five days a week...and I support the local biz, who are largely mom & pop operations and know my face. They took a big hit having to cordon off or remove their indoor seating spaces to go to takeout only and appreciate the local returner customers. Sometimes I get a little extra, like a grandmama who piles your plate thick cuz she loves you. ;)

I get produce elsewhere, but highly recommend it for the normal stuff. Five stars!

The false positive rate is 3%, so when you see 6-10% coming back positive it's great that 1/3 to a half of those tests are false positives.

A false positive Covid test is the very most positive of any potential positive results.

Think positive!

Oh wait.

You aren't looking for that kinda positive outcome.

I'm seriously phobic about big stores, but they limited deliveries to vulnerables during the lockdown. When I finally managed to get a delivery I was quite emotional
I've point blank refused to go into a supermarket before, but the smaller corner shops are ok

I don’t have a fear of crowds or anything, I just really don’t like dealing with the local women who treat it as a social outing, blocking the aisles to discuss their crotch goblins SAT scores or catching up on who’s getting a divorce.

I found out that they will offer the service for a subscription fee, I’m keeping it forever!

Many people realized they hate their jobs and commutes and decided to change their lives. Many parents realized the public schools are not worth their taxes and their kids' time.

You get to find out what heartless fucks your neighbors, friends, and family are.

useless co workers

We have realized the people we don't need in our office. The place has been a ghost town since March and as far as I'm concerned most of them can never come back. They fucked up most of the time and everyone covered for them.

The delivery charge varies a little here. I used to go to a supermarket once a year at Xmas. It's pretty much everything about the experience for me. I nearly had a melt-down once and had to abandon my trolley, which I felt really bad about. Lesson learned. For anyone on the spectrum, they're a frigging horror show and besides, how nice is it to have a chummy bloke bringing your shopping to the door?! Perfect.

Getting back to the OP I'd add, having more time to myself without guilt.
More time spent in the garden
Learning what my true priorities in life are

The car I use is a year old and has 1,500 miles on it (most of it in driving to wineries). I gas it up every third month.

Getting to know our neighbors.:

We definitely have a much better relationship with our neighbors. During the summer we had a different food truck in front of our house. So we got to talk to all of them. That wouldn’t have happened without Covid..

Long morning walks.

Increased amount of time for reflection.

Less interactions with the public.

So how do I arrange to have food trucks in front of my house?

This is important knowledge!
