Amorous Goods, A Literotica Anthology Series --- Story Event.

Two more showed up this morning making 15 so far, but I'm not sure how one has over 2,000 views already. One from yesterday has almost 16,000 views.

Most are rated over 4.X with a couple of mid 3.Xs

That writer has a LOT of stories up in different categories and a LOT of Red Hs in LW of all places.

Did a city ever get picked? Last I saw it was a mansion in Boston.

I don't have a city in mine, I just figure it's in some north eastern state. It's in the outskirts of downtown. I read one of the stories and the place seems like something from Harry Potter.

Sounds fair. I've just described it as an old mansion in the rain. I'll leave it like that.

I started roughing a story out and since the original poster didn't specify a city, in my outline I had the store just appearing in a rundown part of any town just in time to entice the next customer who needs to buy something.

So it is everywhere and nowhere. And it has woven its spell on the new owner so that she doesn't seem to notice.

First of all, congratulations to jaF0 for getting this running (and generating a lovely collection of interesting stories, all united by a slim backbone of a theme, but of startling variety.)

From a different AG thread, this is what I remembered:

It isn't and it wasn't. It was a Canadian series and Curious Goods was located in Toronto. It could be very likely that a traveler from the UK bought an item in the store and returned home with it, causing the proprietors to visit the UK to retrieve it.

So, on that basis (and never having seen the series) and the flimsiest of background, my tale is based in Toronto. This morning I started second guessing myself, did I miss something? Am I the only one in Toronto ? (All that research about I place I have never been?)

It surely doesn't seem to matter much...

And it turns out at least one other AG story mentions the store in Toronto (The Pendulum, so thank you sparkwood)

20 days, 20 stories.

Not bad, but not exactly rip-roarin'.

Another comment on comments that doesn't fit on the other thread.
I'm a bit surprised at the number of comments ragging on the use of magic or sci-fi type angles on this series when it's in conjunction with Halloween and the prologue clearly references cursed or haunted items.

Don't these readers have imaginations?

Well, I’m chipping away at my idea. I don’t think it’ll be finished by the end of the week. Any word on keeping it open for a bit longer?

Thanks for the game

I submitted my story bright and early today, close to the bell, and we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the game. This is different from my usual themes and subjects and I enjoyed working outside what I'm used to. It got the creative juices flowing.

Ok, I’m not going to make it. It’s halfway there, and I’ve plotted out the conclusion.

I’m going to tweak it and make it a winter comp entry - that will give me a new date to work with. I’ll ask Laurel for it to be attached to the Amorous Goods challenge just to give it context.

Thanks jaF0 for running with the idea.

It's up and that makes it 22. Will there be a big rush in the last few days?

What do we think about making it open ended so stories can continue?

I think running it onward is good

I think continuing for people to get in would be fun. That way it'll be available for those who have real life getting in their way.

And mine has 2400 reads and 58 votes already. I don't know how I feel about 4.33 and I know I'm not too familiar with the original program but, hey, I can't argue with scores. Hopefully someone enjoys it, and with 1 favorite, I expect that person did.

Thanks for the game, jaF0. It was a challenge and a new writing experience for me.

I swear the count just dropped by at least one. It's now showing 27 total including the announcement and one oddity, but I recall seeing a total of 28.

Mine just went live today. I just wrote and finished another one to submit. I figured more people would do it.

^^ Yours went up yesterday, the 30th.

I didn't expect hundreds, but I figured more than the 30 or so we see. Oh well.

I don't count thirty, although there is some oddness and inconsistencies in the listings and search results. (Looks like one story disappeared? Another is perhaps duplicated (or caught in an edited-cycle?)

Some interesting tales, ten of these show up in the Halloween contest too, which makes sense.

Erotic Horror and Mind Control are (surprise) the most represented categories, more interesting are the number of Humor & Satire and Loving Wives submissions.

Thanks for doing this, I would count it as a success, lots of fun.

I noticed that the tag search indexes take time to update and there seems to be multiple ones. So for new stories, if you search “all time” they might not show up, but if you search “last 7 days” they will. In a day or two they will show up as could logically be expected, and I suppose we’ll get the official listing at some point as well.

I think I’ll read more of these in the coming days. The Halloween contest was fun, but there was so many stories I got a little overwhelmed. So I for one don’t mind if there isn’t a hundred stories on this list :)
