It'll take some time for me to get used to.

The thing that's most interesting to me is that the New List on the Hub is now default 10 stories, instead of 25 on the old Hub.

But if you click "More New Stories" on the Hub, it brings down a big list of all the new stories.

I wonder how many people will actually click that and look beyond the 10 new stories.

Thoughts?

For the most part, I like the new design. I'm not sure about shortening the listing to ten stories. If people don't go for the "More" link then it could be instant death for stories in popular hubs like I/T.

I like the look of it but I'm less sure of the functionality, especially with the shorter new story list. When you click on "more stories" some of the other columns of information disappear.

Random

And the random stories are now not the same number of stories? I just was clicking on it and the number of results changes each time you click it? I don't get the logic there.

Maybe it is suppressing a random result that already appears above in the new or popular sections?

We're working on the rollout to BETA now. You found the page before we are fully ready. :D

The idea for the Category Hubs is to make the "Hub" a real hub, where there is little bit of everything. You can find what you want quickly and dig deeper into that interest. if you want popular stories, you can go see those. If you want new stories, you can go see those. If you want to find the most popular authors in this category, you can go find those. Etc.

This is the first type of hub we're rolling out in BETA (though it's very similar to the Tags Portal). Later, we'll roll out updated versions of each type of Literotica hub and they'll all be interlinked.

We're sure that not everyone will like the new design, so that's why we're starting with opt in BETA and hoping to get a lot of feedback so that we can improve it.

The main thing that readers want is a more mobile friendly Lit experience, and the Hubs, like the Story Page, Tags Portal, Search, etc. are designed to work much better on phones and tablets.

There is one other page we're rolling out to BETA now as well, the Story Index. That is the page with the famous "News" section from years ago, and the Flash Games. If you're looking for flash games or old news about Bill Cosby, this could be your last chance! :D

Yeah, that's the one thing I don't like that much. I think people will sometimes overlook the more link.

This is a bug. It's more random than we intended. :D

It should be fixed soon.

Yeah, that's the one thing I don't like that much. I think people will sometimes overlook the more link.

We can now show all stories in each category published within the past 7 days, even if that were 100+ stories. We think this will be popular with readers based on feedback and feature requests.

It might take people a little time to get used to the new hubs, but the expanded "New Stories In Category" section alone should make it better for many readers than the old one.

For categories like Incest/Taboo, in which so many new stories are published every day, this is a dramatic improvement. It means that incest stories will be on the list for at least 4 or 5 days instead of sometimes dropping off in one day.

But it actually hurts categories with fewer stories. In some categories stories stay on the new category hubs for a long time because so few are published. Now the new story list will be shorter then before. For instance, in the Celebrity/Fan Fiction category there are now only 16 new stories upon clicking "more", where before there were 25. In Illustrated, there are 10 stories, all of which are more than a week old, so when you click "more" there are no stories listed at all.

Seems like a good alternative would be to ensure that the "more" list is either the most recent 25 stories or all of those published in the last 7 days, whichever total is greater. Is that doable?

I think your idea makes sense, thank you for the suggestion. We definitely don't want a "No New Stories" error on the "New By Category" page. I am going to work on this and see what we can do.

Thank you for all of your hard work.

One thing that would make my lit experience much more enjoyable would be if you posted your balls. Thank you very much for your consideration of my request in improving the Literotica community.

The 'Browse <Category> Stories' on the side is quite silly. You click on a letter, but you get a list which generally starts with titles that start with the previous letters.

I do understand the reason - all titles are in one large list, divided over XX pages, and by clicking on a letter you open the first page where, at the end, the stories start with this letter - but it looks a bit amateurish.

This should be exactly the same functionality as the Classic Lit design. If it's working differently than the old page, I can look into it.

Our original system allowed readers to browse all stories in a single list, but I agree that it could be done differently with a separate list for each letter. I'm not sure if it would be an improvement or not.

I think this is a really good idea.

Hi Manu,

Can I make two questions suggestions if possible?

1. I was going to ask about expanding the new stories in the Hub beyond 10, but it looks like you've adressed that. I'm worried that a lot of people won't bother to click the expansion.

2. On the main Lit page, is there any way to move the Stories and Hubs upward? Personally, I think the stories (New Stories and the Hubs) should be at the top of the main page and the links to the forums should be lower. Or at least the stories should be below Community up top.

Right now it's Community, Resources, Shop, then the stories after.

Just my opinion. Thank you!

I had a hell of a time trying to figure out how to log into my own page. I'm not sure I've figured it out yet. formerly I'd open the Story page and the login was at the top. Now I have to hunt all around to try to find where to log in. The new look just looks busy to me. The past seven and past thirty-day Popular list on the hubs seems to be gone now.

Cool, I really like the random stories. I find interesting old stuff that way.

Is there a way we can get reader submitted tags on stories?

How about a flag that us authors can add to indicate if a series is complete? Nothing worse than finding a cool old series and then figuring out it was not finished and the last post on it was 2016, so probably nothing more coming.

Hi Manu,

Is there any way to make the author's name bigger as it appears under a story title and description?

Non-English Lit pages?

Hi Manu,

Forwarding a 'feature' report: When going to one of the non-English pages, the new version redirects to the English one. The example was found trying to access e.g. german.literotica.com to find the standard, English page.

Thanks a lot for looking into this in advance.

I'd like to see the writer's story tags near the top of the page, rather than at the end of the story. Seems like they would be more useful in that spot to let the reader know what they might be in for versus at the end. YMMV
