Since putting up a couple more stories I have gained a few more followers, which is nice.

There is the facility to look at the profile of those who follow you and how many followers those people have.

A strange thing I have noticed is that some people who have NOT posted any stories have followers. What is the logic in this ?

I follow people because I have enjoyed reading their stories and want to see new ones from them when they are published.

But why would I want to follow someone who has not and might never publish anything. I don't get it.

Maybe they've discovered that they share very similar interests, and will sometimes re-check that person's favorites/followed authors to discover new things that have been added they would also probably enjoy?

They may have had stories when they got followers and have deleted them since then. It's a good question, though.

I have just under 250 followers (most of whom hardly seem to follow these days!). The few that have followers themselves with no stories, I have always assumed it is the 'shared interest' thing as none seem to have any sign of having contributed.

If anyone who looks at Literotica was a writer

If everyone who MIGHT read your stories was to write theirs would you read ALL of them of course not so quit sleeting your readers because we can quit reading yours. Then what would you do for "readers". If you want to be an author send your works to a "publisher" to see if they WANT them. If some one has the time and effort to look at your work you should "respect" that they looked. If you DO NOT like with their comments ,ignore them. Sorry I was a little insults by your posting that if I "do not write" I could not comment on your writings.

That was unnecessary. The OP asked a genuine question and received reasonable answers - common interests, deleted story files, or maybe PM buddies behind the scenes. There was no need to go on the attack.

there was no reason to attack

There was no reason for this "author" to say non-writers should not comment on :"their stories". Sorry if this seems as an "attack" but they asked for "why"

I did this. 'slave2woman' followed me and his favorites list is long and entirely about femdom.

You could of interpreted the OP's question as a prompt for discussion. Instead of interpreting it as ~commanding non-writers to not comment~

I do not think their is such a divide between authors and non-authors in the first place. Some are over critical sure, but you get that everywhere.

They didn't say anything even close to that.
