I have a story idea that involves an older, married woman who from time to time gets approached by other men.

She'll flirt back a little always sure to mention her husband which usually drives the men off.

In the story the wife and husband are out at a pub or brewery having some wine. While they are separated for a bit a younger man approaches the wife with a line that causes her to pause and not quite so quickly chase the man away. And she doesn't just hop into bed with him, but she find she enjoys flirting with him.

So my question to the women out there, when line or comment might cause you to have such a reaction. Either an old classic that she is shocked someone would use or a new one that hits her just right.

If it were me, I'd steer clear of some "perfect line". Have the young man do something gallant and gentlemanly. He somehow intervenes in a way that she can't help but notice. In other words, he's not your ordinary guy making a move, etc.

Perhaps he intervenes when one of the less gentlemanly guys, who's had one too many, is trying his own "line" on her and takes offense at being brushed off — or some such small crisis?

I like that idea. It opens up several other elements that I hadn't considered. Thanks
