Another one bits the dust
It is tragic when people destroy their own lives with drugs. Human life is so precious and drugs erode the lives of both the talented and the untalented. She was so full of energy and so "alive in her music." Tragic that she is one of so many highly talented people to join with millions of others that have flushed their own lives down the toilet. I am glad that we at least have some recordings of her music.

The lead singer reminds me of Janice, same vocal tones and qualities. Very clear throughout her range

I have pearl legacy edition in my iTunes and play it often , and loud. There are some great live tracks on that album. I had the album when I was teenager.
She speaks to the audience in those recording and just givers herself up to that moment in time. Live recording albums from that time period are incredible.

Saw her in concert once at the D.C. Armory, being seated in the front row with the friend I went with, a six-foot-four hunk named Larry. He must have caught her fancy, because stagehands took him away after the concert and when I saw him at work the next Monday, he claimed to have gone to a hotel with her. He kept claiming that for years.

i think it's been restored and is in the rock and roll hall of fame now. her father had it painted blue after she died and drove it until he died.

That is your opinion and I know that for others she means nothing other than she was a good singer/songwriter.
For a lot of people there are celebrities that they would rate a lot higher than her for their own reasons.
So there are lots of celebrities that are comparable, but maybe not to you.
Even though I grew up hearing her songs, I know that for me she wouldn't be very high on the list.
I would rate Stevie Ray Vaughn and Stevie Knicks and a few more higher than her.
Remember, it's all a personal choice or decision on where you rate your chosen celebrity.
For example, Jack Black thinks the world revolves around Led Zepplin and while I like a lot of their songs, I think The Rolling Stones are a heck of a lot better than Led Zepplin is.
I'm not knocking her or your choice, just stating that it's all relative to the person making the choice.
