Things are so bad for Republicans the GOP had to send money to Texas

In 2016, then-anti-Trump Republican Sen. Linsey Graham proclaimed, “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed…….and we will deserve it.” It seems his prediction is coming closer to fruition.

Financial reporting reveals that the Republican Party was forced to send $1.3 million to ruby-red Texas as the election nears. It was something spotted by ProPublica developer and ex-reporter Derek Willis Sunday.

“That’s never happened before,” he tweeted. He noted that the Texas GOP raised $3.3 million in August, but nearly half of that came from their national parents.

Texas has a Senate race this cycle, but with demographic shifts, retirements and the toxic nature of the top of the ticket, the state Republicans are struggling.

President Donald Trump has claimed that he will lead a take-back of the U.S. House this November. The truth is, there are nine congressional races that Democrats are looking to for possible pick-ups in Texas alone. A “win” for the GOP would be not losing anymore seats, but that doesn’t seem likely.

Dems didn't bring their A game, which was Charles Booker. Instead, they chose Amy McGrath, a so-called "Trump Democrat," who had already lost a House race in 2018. If she wins, it will be a miracle. Booker, like Andy Beshear, ran as a populist. That's the key. It's not running as a moderate vs. a conservative or progressive. It's a populist message and campaign. Reassure people that you're with them. Unfortunately, the DNC and the political machine pulled out all of the stops for McGrath, probably more to stop Booker than to beat Mitch McConnell, same way that they cared more about beating Bernie Sanders than beating Donald Trump.

Most of the time, Republicans win primarily when Democrats don't bring their A game. That was true in 2016, when they chose Hillary and she lost the most winnable election in history. In 2017, Republicans didn't bring their A game, when they chose Roy Moore to go up against Doug Jones. Moore's racism was so brazen that it guaranteed a high black turnout, especially with black women, and so Jones pulled off an upset win. I wouldn't count on a repeat of that victory in Alabama this year. Jones is a big-time underdog all over again...because it's fucking Alabama. Just sayin'.

On Thursday, The Daily Beast reported that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is accusing Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) of offering President Donald Trump money for his re-election in return for helping her push opponent Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) out of the race.

“This is what the Loeffler team went to the Trump team with,” said Gaetz at a campaign event for Collins. “They went and said, ‘Look, you guys gotta get Doug Collins out of this race’ … She said, ‘I have $50 million for this project, and I can either spend my $50 million getting new voters and helping the Trump campaign, or I can spend that $50 million taking out Doug Collins.’”

Ann Coulter saw the violence and death threats at Trump rallies, but wasn't satisfied and she called for "a little more violence" from Trump's supporters.

These are all textbook cases of inviting violence. If you or I said these things, we'd probably be in prison right now.

But, what consequences did Ann Coulter, Donald Trump, G. Gordon Liddy and Pat Roberson pay for inciting violence and murder?

NOTHING! They paid no price whatsoever for their blatant and obvious attempts to promote violence, murder and terrorism.

If Barrack Obama, Kamala Harris, Maxine Waters or Stacey Abrams had said these things, they would have been arrested before they could make it to the parking lot, but wealthy, white Republicans can break the law with impunity.
