From cool dim morning

Through the hot bright afternoon

To the cold dark night

from first breath
silver, rose, blues
birdsong and buzzes

bright eye overhead
rain-plumped berries
all shades of greens

air cools
a regression of wild shades
tangerine, carmine, violet

in an exhalation of hues
nightshades reveal
a glistening sprawl of wonders

i enjoyed the metaphorical/metaphysical aspects of this, L
ranging from the limited awareness of a newborn that becomes more enlightened as a person reaches adulthood, the hot, burning urgency of living life and reproducing, to the long, cold night of eternal sleep
