So let me see, it was a bit stressful, completely unsexy weekend.

1) had to relocate an opossum family. the older babies were cute, mom not so much.
2) had to relocate the family because one of my chickens was attacked. I assume mom.
3) the chicken was not killed, but the injury was not survivable. Honestly, worst situation for me, as there is only one choice and not a choice I like. I even have hubby and kid take bugs outside if I see on in the house. Of course, if they aren't home, I will engage in a battle with some sort of shield and can of raid, but it is not my first choice.
4)hubby had a really bad day Saturday. Coworker/friend he was working with had a heart attack while they were at work. positive side, a more minor one, walking and talking not 100% sure it is a heart attack and an emergency type. hubby drove him to the hospital but, of course, was worried and freaking out a bit. He breaks his phone while keeping in communication with he man's family (hubby is one of those people who when stressed, if an animate object acts up, well, I think he slammed his phone down harder than intended) so now he is out of communication until he gets home. As he is heading home, he basically becomes assured the company will go be bankrupt and might has well start packing up the tools. Tiny company, all 3 men need each other as they have different skill sets, and it doesn't have the finances to float long term if they aren't working. Seems insane to think about finances during a health crisis, except, in America, maybe everywhere, it isn't. Even if I was the coworker, if I am walking and talking in a hospital, my worry is crushing financial debt, not that I won't leave. I think most people worry about this. Hubby gets home and clues me in while freaking out, and worrying, and planning job search, moving hardware, just basically making a massive doom and gloom todo list. I get him to agree to try to calm down and push it all to the side for 24 hours. First, We know the man, he is tough, he was walking and talking, he will be fine in the end. 2nd, heart surgery isn't what it used to be. Yes, if they open up his chest, your company is going under, but many things are done laparoscopic now. Recovery is so much better, my coworker was back the same afternoon, stop assuming this will be devastating and just wait, times are different. Wife finally called Sunday morning to inform that he was doing great, they did a minimally invasive stent, and he is back at work today.

I am still amazed by science, and technology and what we have accomplished in the past 40 years. It seems like just yesterday it took my mom's husband like 2 months to recover from this same thing, and not fixing it through a tiny hole is nothing. From the day my 5 year old self set eyes on her first computer, almost everything I saw when looking at it is here. I was going to be able to play Monopoly with a boy in China someday. We were going to be able to chat and tell each other all about what our lives were like and we could quickly translate it. There were going to be machines that helped with household chores. I would be able to talk on a phone anywhere, just like walking down the street, like I was at home. We would have machines that could be our hands but better because they were more precise. And damn, almost everything I saw is here. Of course, it drove my mom crazy. I saved every penny I could get me hands on. Birthday and christmas cards, straight A rewards, collecting cans from the street (though actually my mother would just slip me a little money and toss the garbage bags in the closest dumpsters rather than actually take them to anywhere lol) took 5 years, and my god was she pissed I did it. She tried like hell to talk me out of it, and refused to even come in the computer store with me to buy it, she waited in the car. I give her props for taking me though. She was so against my frivolous waste of money in buying what she thought was a video game. I have to give her props on standing on her principals though, even though she had full control, and believed I was so wrong, I had earned every cent, it belonged to me, it was my decision in the end, even though she could take it from me, she wouldn't. I am still sad we didn't save the Earth and fix traffic and taking so long to get to my grandmothers by introducing electric flying cars and vertical traffic lanes. I was so sure I'd get to have a quiet flying car one day. I wonder what the next 40 years will bring. I don't see it in the ways I used to. I do see much better virtual reality including tactile. I see more artificial body parts filling in for organs and chips being used to repair nerve damage. Still hoping for the flying cars. I need to ask my kid more about what he sees. He has been sure we'd be bringing back the dead since he was 2 and he saw death. Not only with the whole artificial repairs, but viruses that change cells for the better. Bringing back all the species humans have driven to extinction, the dodo, the quagga, the tasmanian tiger. Then creating better genetically engineered creatures. He talks about that a lot. Oh the mutant animals he plans to create lol. Then, of course, the dinosaurs. OK, I'd love to see a Tasmanian Tiger before I die, but the Jurassic franchise has me fairly well convinced we do not need to try to clone the dinosaurs. I do wish him luck on his goal of being a science teacher via virtual reality, genetic engineer, and log cabin builder in a society that runs on trade and not money when he grows up though.

Now, why do you care about any of this, for the most part you don't, except I had to upgrade phones. Oh, it will still have a mediocre at best camera, but mediocre today is some much better than mediocre three years ago the way tech moves now. Yeah, I totally rambled through health, advancements in technology etc, just to say my phone will have a better camera. lol. I also ended up switching providers to xfinity mobile. Cheap, uses verizon, I liked the simplicity of their website. Annoying part was after ordering online, they insisted calling. First to verify I am me, and not with easy things, like which of these 4 license plates are you associated with. God damn, I have 3 current vehicles registered to me and don't know any of their plates. ugh. Then calling again to survey me on my first call. If I wanted to talk to people, I wouldn't have ordered online, damn it. And now if you made it this far, happy movie monday.

I'm not a fan of possums, raccoons either, I've had both do some serious injury to pets and have seen what they do to chickens. So I won't relocate or rehome them but I always won't fault someone else who chooses to do so.

My woodworking forum is full of old guys and it devolved into a long argument about FORTRAN over the weekend. (For or against). I love it and miss using it, so that's how far back my computer experience goes (Punchcards Baby). I DO still want my Flying Car, The one I saw in Popular Science at my Grandpa's in 1968.

Hubby gets home and clues me in while freaking out, and worrying, and planning job search, moving hardware, just basically making a massive doom and gloom todo list. I get him to agree to try to calm down and push it all to the side for 24 hours. First, We know the man, he is tough, he was walking and talking, he will be fine in the end. 2nd, heart surgery isn't what it used to be. Yes, if they open up his chest, your company is going under, but many things are done laparoscopic now. Recovery is so much better, my coworker was back the same afternoon, stop assuming this will be devastating and just wait, times are different. Wife finally called Sunday morning to inform that he was doing great, they did a minimally invasive stent, and he is back at work today.

I am still amazed by science, and technology and what we have accomplished in the past 40 years. It seems like just yesterday it took my mom's husband like 2 months to recover from this same thing, and not fixing it through a tiny hole is nothing. From the day my 5 year old self set eyes on her first computer, almost everything I saw when looking at it is here. I was going to be able to play Monopoly with a boy in China someday. We were going to be able to chat and tell each other all about what our lives were like and we could quickly translate it. There were going to be machines that helped with household chores. I would be able to talk on a phone anywhere, just like walking down the street, like I was at home. We would have machines that could be our hands but better because they were more precise. And damn, almost everything I saw is here. Of course, it drove my mom crazy. I saved every penny I could get me hands on. Birthday and christmas cards, straight A rewards, collecting cans from the street (though actually my mother would just slip me a little money and toss the garbage bags in the closest dumpsters rather than actually take them to anywhere lol) took 5 years, and my god was she pissed I did it. She tried like hell to talk me out of it, and refused to even come in the computer store with me to buy it, she waited in the car. I give her props for taking me though. She was so against my frivolous waste of money in buying what she thought was a video game. I have to give her props on standing on her principals though, even though she had full control, and believed I was so wrong, I had earned every cent, it belonged to me, it was my decision in the end, even though she could take it from me, she wouldn't. I am still sad we didn't save the Earth and fix traffic and taking so long to get to my grandmothers by introducing electric flying cars and vertical traffic lanes. I was so sure I'd get to have a quiet flying car one day. I wonder what the next 40 years will bring. I don't see it in the ways I used to. I do see much better virtual reality including tactile. I see more artificial body parts filling in for organs and chips being used to repair nerve damage. Still hoping for the flying cars. I need to ask my kid more about what he sees. He has been sure we'd be bringing back the dead since he was 2 and he saw death. Not only with the whole artificial repairs, but viruses that change cells for the better. Bringing back all the species humans have driven to extinction, the dodo, the quagga, the tasmanian tiger. Then creating better genetically engineered creatures. He talks about that a lot. Oh the mutant animals he plans to create lol. Then, of course, the dinosaurs. OK, I'd love to see a Tasmanian Tiger before I die, but the Jurassic franchise has me fairly well convinced we do not need to try to clone the dinosaurs. I do wish him luck on his goal of being a science teacher via virtual reality, genetic engineer, and log cabin builder in a society that runs on trade and not money when he grows up though.

Now, why do you care about any of this, for the most part you don't, except I had to upgrade phones. Oh, it will still have a mediocre at best camera, but mediocre today is some much better than mediocre three years ago the way tech moves now. Yeah, I totally rambled through health, advancements in technology etc, just to say my phone will have a better camera. lol. I also ended up switching providers to xfinity mobile. Cheap, uses verizon, I liked the simplicity of their website. Annoying part was after ordering online, they insisted calling. First to verify I am me, and not with easy things, like which of these 4 license plates are you associated with. God damn, I have 3 current vehicles registered to me and don't know any of their plates. ugh. Then calling again to survey me on my first call. If I wanted to talk to people, I wouldn't have ordered online, damn it. And now if you made it this far, happy movie monday.

Now that's a bad day. My being unable to sleep past 3am this morning and getting to work at 6am feels minor in comparison. In any case, loved the movie, glad to hear your husband's friend is doing well and his company will survive (for now), and hope the best for the little animals (except bugs, which I kill immediately unless there's a spider web around to catch them).

And I forgot to add to my last entry after reading your note about Target. I was in there the other day and I always notice that there are numerous beautiful posteriors wearing those great inventions called yoga pants. I love when women wear the very thin ones that look like they should be tights and you can see the outline of everything. Lovely. Did I mention that I was a lurking perv? Yeah. Have to admit that (virtual wife backslap on my arm).

Wow, sounds like you had quite the weekend. Glad everything seems to be turning out ok (except maybe the broken phone). And yes, technology is amazing. I think my first PC had a 20 mb hard drive and that amazed my friends. And medicine - where to even start.
Movie Monday did not disappoint. I’m looking forward to high quality pics & vids with the new phone.

Sounds like a rough old weekend for you. Good job we don’t get animals like that in my garden. The only thing we get around here are the odd fox as well as some smaller birds of prey such as falcons.

I almost missed monday video. Well hidden in the text. Good job I know what to look out for now. Love the plug clenching at the end.
