I'm trying to rename 2 BDSM stories, shortening their names into Ch.1 and Ch.2
I heard this can be done and messaged Laurel about it, but I'm more confused.

I want 2 stories of mine renamed into chapters, I had read this can be done by messaging you.

I want this one:
https://www.literotica.com/s/busting...-parking-space
renamed to:
Busting at Work Ch. 01

And this one:
https://www.literotica.com/s/busting-at-work-induction
renamed to:
Busting at Work Ch. 02

Awaiting your reply,

I didn't get a real answer, I want to rename the titles.
I'm not sure how to interpret the message:
Hello,

First, I want to let you know that you have every right to remove your submissions from the site at any time for any reason.

Second, if you feel comfortable doing so, I'd appreciate knowing the reason(s) for your decision. We strive to improve Literotica ever day, and your comments can help us mend things that might need mending.

Be aware that we do not store site submission data - including votes, comments, and the text itself. Once it is deleted from our servers, we cannot restore it.

Also know that if you submit a new edit of the story, we will post it as new but it will not be eligible for any contests because it is not new to the site.

SUBMISSION REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS:

For security purposes and to make sure you (as the author) are the one making the removal request, you must log into your account
https://www.literotica.com/my/
and create a submission titled "REMOVE". In the body of the submission, put the names of the submissions you wish removed along with (optionally) the reason for their removal.

If you want all of your work removed, you can write "DELETE ALL" in one form rather than listing every submission.

If you want all of one series removed, you can write "DELETE [SERIESNAME]" in one form rather than listing every submission.

Submission removals are usually done within 2-5 days.

Thanks for your support, and best of luck in all you do.

I'm thinking my options are:

1. Somehow submit something that says ~Busting at Work Ch. 1 RENAME~ and put a message in the admin box that I'm talking about renaming ~Busting at Work, a Parking Space~.

2.Delete both, resubmit :(

Help?

Nevermind, I'm going to combine both stories and post it as Ch. 1
Then delete the other chapters, they were both really short anyway. Shame I'll lose the favourites and comments, but I can live with that.

I'd still like to know if option 1. would work or not.

Yes, try that approach - resubmit the complete text with the current title plus RENAME, and a note to the Editor with your new title. That should work. Wait to see if it does, then do the same with the second part. Laurel then joins the chapters together.

Moral: sort out your story titles before you submit ;).

You've got the generic "deletion" response, by the way.

Yep, well that's usually how I learn new things, by making mistakes.

I've made the decision to delete both and submit a combined story. I have a feeling you can't rename titles.
I'm sure the same few people will find it again and favourite it anyway.

You can rename titles. I've done it, when I inadvertently stuffed up the chapter numbering system. Resubmitted the story with an explanation to Laurel what went wrong. It got fixed.

Why would readers re-favourite a retitled story? They could just as well feel duped, thinking it was a new story.

My suggestion - stop futzing with existing stories, write new ones. That's what really matters to readers, not titles. Authors are the only ones who care about the packaging, readers just want what's inside. That's why it called vanity publishing ;).

It's been a week and it's still pending for edit.

Just when I had given up checking, it worked.
