Hello,

I am a newbie on Literotica. I started writing a few weeks back, and I would like to receive feedback, advice about my writing. Is this the right place to ask?

Thank you!

Hi, Duchess. Welcome to Lit and the Lit Forums. Yes this is one of the "right places" to seek editorial help. Others would be the Story Discussion or the Story Ideas, or even the Author's Hangout threads.

If you've turned on "Private Messages" n your forum profile, I'll send you a message to talk about this possibility. If you don't have PMs turned on, you won't be able to receive messages from potential editors. Do NOT click the box that says "Friends only."

Generally, an editor is going to ask what "category/categories" you hope to post your story in, a general idea of how long it will be, and what varieties of sex it will involve. All those things impact how much time it will take and whether or not it fits with the editor's own likes and dislikes (if a potential editor doesn't find a specific practice erotic, s/he isn't likely to invest as much effort in it as if it was something the editor would enjoy. Makes sense?). Many of us a fairly flexible, but some are not. If you post that info in your request, it will accelerate your search.

Good luck, Randy

Everything Randy said is correct, but another good place to look is the top post in the Editor's Forum. People looking to edit post their preferences in there.

I'm usually eager to volunteer for general feedback, but I wouldn't be able to get to it for about a week and half. It usually doesn't take that long to find help on here.

The Editor's Forum is to get support before a story gets submitted to the site.

The Feedback Forum is to get feedback on a story once it has been published on the site.

The Author's Hangout is good for more general questions and advice from fellow writers.

I guess I read that as is wasn’t published yet. If it’s already up then, yeah, feedback would be a better place. Since we’re already here you can throw up a link if you want.

Hi

Team FF

Thanks a lot everybody for all the advice. Indeed, nothing published yet, I am actually looking more for a 'second pair of eyes' to go over what I wrote, tell me if I am actually going in the right direction, what is god and what is not...

Hey fellow virgin!

I happen to be in a very similar spot of yours.

I've been cooking my story for sometime now and I got some extra "percs" in the mix that are making me so anxious.

1. Never been a writer, not even good with those essays from tests and school applications (obviously Lit is not about this, but I mean as an experience with wordsmithing)

2. My first time writing to this forum, so all rules are brand-new to me.

3. I'm not eng native. But I'm kinda perfectionist so I more than overcompensate researching everything I can, every word, grammar and spelling when I spot something strange.

I came by to check if any answers could help me as well and I'm intending to enter a competition due to the end of this month, so I'm really worried about the deadline.

Good luck for us, I hope I can check your work published on Lit anytime soon!
