Story stuck in pending for months

Is there a way to find out why my story has been stuck in pending for months on end? It was stuck in pending for 2 months first, then I assumed there was some technical issue causing it to display incorrectly, so I resubmitted it about a month ago. This is my third story so I know how to submit stories correctly by now, and I do not think this is the issue.

I have attempted to message some mods but I assume they were busy or the wrong people to contact, since I never heard back. I am just a bit frustrated and would really appreciate it if I could get it approved somehow, or otherwise just a clear explanation of why I can't post.

Laurel and Manu are the site owners. Manu works the tech stuff and Lautel does pretty much everything else. (Including accepting or denying submissions.) No other bulletin board moderator will be able to do anything about your submission.

I've read other threads here about some people forgetting to hit a "submit" button and their story had sat in the wrong folder for eternity until they went back and checked it. Perhaps reading some of those similar threads in this board will help?

Just to cover the bases, make absolutely sure it's in the "Pending" folder, and not the "Drafts" folder. I've clicked the wrong button many times. I'm assuming this isn't the case from your post, but I'm going to bring it up because others may have a similar problem, and they may not be as familiar with the system as you.

Assuming it's in the right folder, and you've already attempted to resubmit without success, then your best course is to contact Laurel via PM.

Ok, I have contacted the right people quite a while ago then. Is it normal to hear back? I don't know how busy they are, and I understand business, but I have never got a reply, so it seems as though I'm a bit in the dark now since I don't know what else can be done. I have tried a second time as a reminder but more than that is probably pestering.

I don't think I have broken any rules so I don't think there is any reason I should be on a "problem" list.

If one of the right people sees this thread I would very much appreciate it if they would check my profile or give some assistance

Usually you won't hear back but the story will either get published or you'll get a rejection notice.

Try resubmitting one more time, with a note to the editor saying that it went into a black hole before. That way it gets back into the queue, and also makes sure you've actually submitted it. It might be an idea to purge your cache history, just in case that's got something to do with it.

I've had one stuck now since 7/21. I did edit it once with the hopes that this might "refresh" it or something since it puts it back in the queue, but to no avail. I've sent Laurel a message and will update if anything changes.

There are getting to be more and more of these posts about stuck stories, let's hope they're able to address whatever the issue is. Some folks have had one story get posted while their others- submitted prior- do not, so it's not just that there's a backlog or slowdown.

Did your story get posted? I've PM'd Laurel, once back at the beginning of September and once today. The story I submitted in July is still pending. I'd love to be able to submit stories, and I'm missing out on being able to enter any contests and I don't have any idea why. It's a little upsetting.

I thought I was having problems

I submitted something a month ago and have not gotten a publication or response. Either there is a glitch, a back up or some of us are in the wrong line.

Not sure it's a backup, as others in other threads have mentioned stories getting accepted sooner than other stories that stay stuck. So something's up with the submission queue.
