So sad about this. I loved him as Thurgood Marshall and then was blown away by his performance in Black Panther. A magnetic presence on screen, and he was always so thoughtful in interviews too.

I haven't seen him as Jackie Robinson or James Brown, will have to watch those after I revisit Black Panther.

Rest in peace and power, Mr. Boseman. :rose:

sad loss to the world of acting; a man who showed little kids black-positive roles, kings and superheroes

his near-silent battle with colon cancer was ongoing during the filming of black panther :rose::rose:

That's sucks. Good actor, and from what I've seen a class act.

Fuck cancer.

His performance as James Brown was something else. I assume the reason he didn't get an Oscar nomination (unlike the portrayers of Ray Charles and Freddie Mercury) was that Brown in most ways other than musical was, shall we say, a difficult person to admire.

Really sad news. He was not only talented as hell, but a really great person. I read that he filled the marvel movies while sick and getting treatment.

R.I.P.

If he doesn't work, they cancel his health insurance. (Ain't that a bitch?)

I knew about the battle with cancer during the filming but he was "supposed" to survive.

Very sad. Colon cancer far more ubiquitous amongst Afro-Caribbeans apparently, especially in youngsters. For years they always thought diet related; not a disease prevalent in vegetarians with high fibre in diet, but guess we'll never really know
