The week begins where last week ended with the Post Master General before Congress.

Yesterday Mr. DeJoy said he was not responsible for what went on in the USPS, he was only a placeholder trying to make things more efficient. He says he was not responsible for removal of sorting machines or removing collection boxes, that all this was 'normal' proceedure and the sorting machines were not needed.

But today before he sits in front of the House Oversight Committee it seems that he lied!

Internal USPS memo appears to contradict postmaster general’s testimony

The memo, which was provided by a manager to rank-and-file employees, appears to confirm reports that under DeJoy the agency is implementing policies aimed at dramatically curtailing the opportunity for worker overtime, to the point that the memo says flatly on its first page: “Overtime will be eliminated.”

Sen. Gary Peters, D-Mich., asked DeJoy whether he had taken steps to “eliminate” or “curtail” overtime. DeJoy said no.

“We never eliminated overtime,” DeJoy said. When Peters asked whether it had been curtailed, Dejoy replied, “It’s not been curtailed by me or the leadership team.”

“Here are some of his expectations and they will be implemented in short order,” the memo reads.

*POT will be eliminated. This is not cost effective and it will be taken away.

*Overtime will be eliminated. Again we are paying too much in OT and it is not cost effective and will soon be taken off the table. More to come on this.

*The USPS will no longer use excessive cost to get the job done. If the plants run late they will keep the mail for the new day. If you get the mail late and the carriers are gone and you cannot get the mail out without OT it will remain for the next day. It must be reported in CSDRS.

The memo also says that “The plants are not to send mail late. If plants are not on time they will hold the mail for the next day.” This could mean, per the memo, that mail carriers might start their routes as late as 9:00 a.m., “but will not start them any later.” In such cases, the mail will wait a day.

This sounds like delaying the mail. The LA Times reported that the LA USPS facilities are totally overwhelmed by the volume of mail and it is impossible to move about without having to shift the boxes around in some facilities. At least one facility lost 7 of 10 sorting machines recently.

Does our PMG know what is happening in his own organization, I fear not.

Also Treasury Sec Minuchin has been fucking about in USPS operation and it was his idea to remove the collection boxes?

It makes on wonder how widespread this conspiracy to fuck the USPS is in the Trump Administration?

Nearly 700 protests planned for Saturday at Post Offices across country as DeJoy slammed for defense of mail sabotage

As of Friday afternoon, more than 650 demonstrations were planned as part of “Save the Post Office Saturday,” a national day of action in which people across the U.S. will demand that President Donald Trump and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy end their assault on the U.S. Postal Service. Demonstrations will begin at 11:00 am local time.

The number of planned protests at hundreds of post offices grew as DeJoy testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Friday, telling lawmakers he has “no intention” of returning hundreds of mail sorting machines that have been decommissioned in recent weeks, severely cutting postal workers’ ability to deliver mail quickly. The postmaster general claimed the machines are not needed.

The people are not pleased!:D:D:D:D

Republicans scrambling to pull off convention as Trump keeps changing demands: report

According to a report from USA Today, Republicans tasked with putting together the Republican National Convention next week are still scrambling because Donald Trump is making constant demands for changes and scrutinizing every detail.

With the RNC having been moved from Charlotte, North Carolina, then to Jacksonville, Florida over COVID-19 concerns, Republicans — like the Democrats — will now be holding a virtual convention.

However, unlike the Democrats, Republicans are having to deal with the ever-changing moods and demands of the volatile Trump.

Noting that organizers have yet to release a schedule for the week — including all of the speaker slots — the report states that demands are changing by the hour.

The RNC will be produced and directed by none other than Donald J. Trump, noted know-it-all!:D:D:D:D

Jim Clyburn destroys Trump’s plan to send law enforcement to polling sites with a brutal fact check

On MSNBC Saturday, House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC) tore into President Donald Trump for his threat to send law enforcement to intimidate voters at polling places.

“The fact of the matter is, he cannot do a thing to these sheriff departments,” said Clyburn. “These sheriffs are not crazy. Many of them are on the ballots themselves. They are not going to participate in his charade. He cannot order the Richland County Sheriff, that I know very well, to do anything. Those people know who elects them. They are responsible to the people of those counties and they’re not going to be listening to this president who seems to be beyond the pale.”

Never misunderestimate Floridah law enforcement!

Democrats have a plan to disrupt Trump’s convention and cripple his message: report

With the virtual Democratic National Convention in the rear-view mirror and the nomination handed to former Vice President Joe Biden, Democratic strategists plan to do everything they can to disrupt the Republican National convention slated to start next week.

After a week of Donald Trump taking daily shots at the Democratic ticket of Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), along with speakers who were live-streamed into the convention, the Democratic Party plans to hit the president with a daily barrage of attacks zeroing in on the lowlights of his failed administration.

A whole week of rodent porn!:D:D:D:D

RNC ‘split-screen convention for the ages’ with 2 hurricanes making landfall: ‘Basically God endorsing Joe Biden’

Two tropical storms could hit the U.S. gulf course as hurricanes during next week’s Republican National Committee Convention.

Tropical Storm Marco is currently predicted to hit Louisiana on Monday evening, during the first day of the RNC Convention.

Tropical Storm Laura is also headed towards Louisiana, with an expected landfall on Wednesday afternoon, during the third day of the convention.

I'm sorry: The two brewing hurricanes in the Gulf are scheduled to hit during the RNC convention AND converge at a town with the same name as the cop who killed Grorge Floyd?

WHO WRITES THIS SHIT?????

Trump worried marijuana could derail his re-election hopes: report

According to a report at the Daily Beast, Donald Trump has added the American public’s desire to legalize marijuana to the list of topics that could cripple his chances at re-election.

At issue are states that are crucial to his electoral hopes including initiatives to allow recreational use of weed on the ballot — which will drive up Democratic participation.

As the Beast notes, “The president and some of his team, already obsessed with the potential drop-off of various demographic groups that make up his battered coalition, have begun openly worrying that the drive to legalize or decriminalize marijuana might hurt him and fellow Republicans at the ballot box,” adding, “According to two GOP strategists who’ve independently discussed the topic with Trump this year, the president believes that inclusion of marijuana initiatives on state ballots could supercharge turnout for voters who lean toward Democratic candidates and causes.”

“If Trump’s theory is borne out in 2020, it could have significant consequences for him and other Republicans in tight races in November,” the Beast reports. “Two of the four states where recreational cannabis legalization will likely make the ballot in November are Arizona and Montana. Both those states are hosts to critical U.S. Senate contests where Republican incumbents are facing tough re-election fights.”

Dare I say it, Weed is more popular than Trump or Biden!

Jeanine Pirro ripped for Fox News rant: ‘Judge Juice Box is serving the hypocrisy straight from the bottle’

Fox News host Jeanine Pirro seemed entirely unfamiliar with the Trump family history or business practices during attacks on former Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday night.

“Unlike you Joe, Donald Trump made his own money and he hasn’t asked the government for it and he doesn’t cut deals while he’s in the government for his son and his family,” Pirro falsely claimed.

“So stop with your sanctimonious, condescending, holier-than-thou nonsense,” she shouted, “And above all, stop lying to me!”

Pirro was harshly criticized for her comments, with many people wondering if she was drunk on-air. That was a topic explored by NBC’s Saturday Night Live in 2019:

Dear @JudgeJeanine aka rage Alcoholic who needs a program

Trump borrowed in excess of $400 million from his wax figure father. This is not rumor or deep state. These are just facts. It started with $11 million and rose to over $400 million.

Try to get 1 sober day behind you.

Trump is gathering up an ‘illegal’ army to send to the polls — but not to vote

It has been declared illegal, inappropriate, vague and not his job, but there was Donald Trump again this week promising to send an army of armed sheriffs, off-duty police, attorneys general to loom over physical voting – a hedge, he said, against the voter fraud he can never show.

What?

Until now, Trump’s been decrying the widespread fraud he thinks is possible – including foreign monkeying with actual votes – from mail-in ballots necessitated by the pandemic. Apparently enough judges, postal officials past and present and state officials have sufficiently debunked that idea that Trump has turned to the actual physical vote to intimidate.

Last week, a federal judge in Pittsburgh, a Trump appointee incidentally, ordered the Trump campaign to produce proof of widespread fraud in its challenge of Pennsylvania’s plans to distribute mail ballot applications. The campaign turned in 500 pages, reflecting almost no fraud.

The most prominent vote fraud was promoted by... You guess it, Republicans! :D:D:D

Experts say Trump will have a tough time winning the Electoral College again

Donald Trump loves recounting how everyone told him he wouldn’t win in 2016, but he now has his work cut out to prove the doubters wrong a second time on November 3.

Pollsters are more wary than four years ago, not least because this time the variables are off the chart.

Election season got into gear just as the coronavirus pandemic began sweeping through the United States, so far killing more than 170,000 people and pushing the previously booming economy off a cliff.

The latest average of public, national polls from fivethirtyeight.com, however, has Trump down at about 43 percent to Biden’s 51 percent.

“Right now we’re leading in so many polls that they refuse to put out,” he said again Thursday.

The latest average of public, national polls from fivethirtyeight.com, however, has Trump down at about 43 percent to Biden’s 51 percent.

The Economist’s model, updated daily, currently gives Biden an 88 percent chance of winning the presidency, while Trump has just 12 percent. Its electoral college counter predicts a Biden landslide of 343 to Trump’s 195, with only 270 required to win.

Plus Hillary is not Trump's opponent this go-round!:D

I was wrong... or inadequately informed when I said DeJoy was going before the House yesterday. He is due on Monday, sorry.

New documents show postal delays are ‘far worse’ than previously known

As the House of Representatives prepares a Saturday vote on legislation to reverse recent changes in postal operations and send emergency funds to help the agency before the November election, the chair of the House Oversight Committee says that things are far worse than previously known.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), released new internal USPS documents Saturday with a warning for Postmaster General Louis DeJoy about steep declines and increasing delays nationwide over the last two months.

The documents released by Maloney show a 7 to 9% decline in mail delivery going back to July. including in First-Class, Marketing, Periodicals, and Priority Mail. DeJoy, a donor to President Trump and the first postmaster general to not be a career postal worker, took over USPS in June.

“After being confronted on Friday with first-hand reports of delays across the country, the Postmaster General finally acknowledged a ‘dip’ in service, but he has never publicly disclosed the full extent of the alarming nationwide delays caused by his actions and described in these new documents,” said Chairwoman Maloney. “To those who still claim there are ‘no delays’ and that these reports are just ‘conspiracy theories,’ I hope this new data causes them to re-think their position and support our urgent legislation today. We have all seen the headlines from every corner of our country, we have read the stories and seen pictures, we have heard directly from our constituents, and these new documents show that the delays are far worse than we were told.”

Maryanne Trump Barry dished on her brother Donald in surreptitiously recorded tapes: report

Mary Trump, the author of a bestselling book on her uncle, President Donald Trump, “surreptitiously taped 15 hours of face-to-face conversations” with her aunt, first sister Maryanne Trump Barry.

“All he wants to do is appeal to his base,” Barry said. “He has no principles. None. None. And his base, I mean my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people. Not do this.”

The Biden administration needs to pursue every Trump appointee accused of perjury: conservative

In a column for the Washington Post, conservative commentator Jennifer Rubin said, should Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden win in November, he should commit to having his Justice Department look into any Donald Trump appointee who has been accused of committing perjury during the past four years.

According to the never-Trumper, the first thing the new administration needs to do is open up to the public “all documents the Trump administration previously withheld from congressional subpoenas.”

Burn them all to the ground and piss on their ashes!:D:D:D:D

Trump targets Fox News and OAN with defiant tweet: ‘Actually I think I’m leading in the polls’

Donald the Deluded says...He's leading??? Ha ha ha aha.

President Donald Trump on Sunday lashed out at two of his favorite news networks after national polls showed him trailing Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

“Actually, I think I’m leading in the polls,” the president wrote, directing a tweet to conservative outlets Fox News and OAN.

At the time of the tweet, a Real Clear Politics average showed the president trailing Biden by 7.6 percentage points.

Detractors responded on Twitter by mocking Trump.

:D:D:D:D

Let him continue to think that. Let him continue to say it. And, by all means, let him continue to be Donald Trump in public for the next two months.

Ex-RNC head drops the mic on Trump voters in epic rant: ‘You’re stupid — you’re getting played’

Former Republican National Committee head Michael Steele went off on supporters of Donald Trump on Sunday morning, saying they are “stupid” for continuing to stand by him after three and a half years.

Sitting in on a panel with MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart, the normally staid Steele was asked about the upcoming Republican National Convention before going on an extended — and frequently sarcastic — diatribe.

“Michael Steele, do you have any hope that that’s what we’re actually going to hear out of the Republican Convention?” host Capehart asked.

“Hell no! That ain’t happening. Come on?” Steele exclaimed. “Donald Trump is speaking every night. What do you think Donald Trump is going to say every night?”

“I’ve been a Republican for over 40 years, since 1976,” he continued. “I’ll be damned if I’m going to cede that ground to Donald Trump who is not now nor has he ever been a Republican. Who is not now nor ever been a conservative.”

“Y’all want to play this game that Donald Trump is like you? You’re stupid. You’re being played. You’re getting punked,” he continued. “What’s so bad about it is you’re complicit in your own punking. And those who have said I’m not doing that because that’s not me, understand why: we refuse to collaborate.”

:D:D:D:D

Four years later Republican senators admit, ‘yes, Trump conspired with the Russians’

Never forget, Trump is a traitor! Proven by Republicans!

It’s a red-letter, if sad, day on the hypocrisy beat when after three years a Republican-majority Senate Intelligence Committee comes out with a 1,000-page report finding there was a whole lot of direct contact between the Trump 2016 campaign with Russian intelligence operators. You know, the opposite of what Donald Trump has argued forcefully over and over again is a hoax.Even Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), the new committee chairman, says while it does not represent “collusion” — a conclusion that prompted Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) to say Rubio was not reading the same report he did — he did acknowledge a whole lot of interaction between Team Trump and Team Russia.

‘He is evil’: George Conway chokes up as he explains when Trump’s racism finally hit home

In an upcoming documentary, conservative attorney George Conway emotionally recalls when he first realized beyond a doubt that President Donald Trump is a racist.

“My mother came from the Philippines. She came to the United States in the late 1950s. So I’m half Filipino, and the other half is some mixture of Irish, Scottish – you know, I’m classic American mutt,” Conway explains in a clip of the documentary “#Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump.”

Trump’s media pugilist Kellyanne Conway steps down

Kellyanne Conway, a long-serving advisor to President Donald Trump known for sparring with reporters, announced Sunday she will step down to focus on her family.

Conway, 53, has been at Trump’s side since day one, managing his 2016 campaign that catapulted the reality TV star into the world’s most powerful office.

“For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama.”

Her announcement came a day after her 15-year-old daughter Claudia tweeted that she was “devastated” that her mother would speak at the Republican convention, and pledged to seek legal emancipation “due to years of childhood trauma and abuse.”

As Louis DeJoy prepares for the House grilling:
Empty mail trucks leaving early — while mail sits on docks — to fulfill Trump appointee’s orders: report

A new investigative report contradicts claims about cost-cutting by President Donald Trump’s postmaster general.

Postmaster general Louis DeJoy told Congress on Friday that he was implementing sweeping changes across the U.S. Postal Service to save money, but WTVF-TV found that an empty truck was driving from Tennessee to Illinois as the Trump official testified.

DeJoy highlighted measures he’s taken to reduce transportation issues, such as requiring postal trucks to leave sorting facilities by specific times each day to reduce unnecessary trips, but postal workers told the TV station his changes weren’t working as intended.
Defend democracy. Click to invest in courageous progressive journalism today.

“Trucks leave empty,” said Joe Jolley, an employee with the postal workers union in Nashville. “They leave completely empty. We pay a truck to travel to Memphis, a 53-foot truck with no mail on it.”

DeJoy’s new policy won’t allow trucks to hold for even five minutes to be filled with mail, Jolley said, and some Express Mail and Priority Mail is left sitting on the dock after trucks leave by the ordered time.

“That is very important mail — cremated remains, legal documents, things that must be delivered on time, guaranteed delivery — and we are not making that guarantee,” Jolley said.

The service’s inspector general issued a report in June on the transportation network that found delays in mail processing and inadequate dock staffing resulted in five million late trips last year that cost the agency $410 million.
