This would have minimal sex, but more explore the daily life of someone who is not involved, nor desires to become involved, with an incestuous couple.

For example, the parents of a brother and sister, and what they do knowing their son and daughter are involved sexually and romantically. Do the couple tells them, or do the parents find out on their own. If they find out on their own, do they tell the couple they know about it, or keep it to themselves and act like they are oblivious? If it's all out in the open, how freely does the couple display affection in front of their parents? How do the parents react to such affection?

Maybe the sister of a young man involved with his mother. Where they're pretty open with each other, and what it's like for her seeing her brother kiss their mom and cuddle on the couch.

The key here is that the POV character is NOT involved, and does not become involved, and does not really want to be involved. This would be more of a "a day in the life" kind of story, where the sea is minimal because the POV character is not involved.
This started because I had the idea of a sister walking into the bathroom to see her brother and mother going at it, and what her thoughts would be. Like "those two just can't control themselves, can they?" and she walks away embarrassed.

Not sure if this meets your criteria but I had a gf that hinted and I later discovered was actually sleeping with her son.

I never flipped out about it and over time I found it more and more thrilling since both were adults and both were consenting.

Absolutely, yes, there are possibilities.

Not everyone thinks about stories the way I do. There's no one way. But when I think about a scenario like this I try to figure out, What's the erotic essence of the story? What's the one story I most want to tell?

The point is not the eroticism directly, but the implication of it. I'm looking for a character that knows and approves (or comes to accept) what's happening, but doesn't participate. Because there are a million stories that explore the sex, slightly less that explore the relationship, and this is meant to be a way to explore the relationship from a different perspective, and provide a glimpse into how the relationship affects others. The relationship to me is just as important as the sex, if not more so. So this is a way to explore it that hasn't been done very often, if at all.

How I would handle this, either M/s of F/d are incesting (I just may TM that word).

The opposite gender sibling finds out by reading incstous siblings journal. They get curious and spy on the taboo couple. The story is about their internal struggle on what to do about the situation. Tell other parent, call police, leave well enough alone, etc...

I could do a true story on this. When I was with my ex-wife, for the last two years of our marriage, she was having sex with her brother with my knowledge. We were already in a cuckold/hotwife relationship so it didn't really bother me that he was actually her half-brother. There were many times they would show affection in front of me, and most of the time they had sex alone without me there even though I was the cuckold and wanted to watch. Just thought of one possibility for this. In addition to the scene mentioned above with the pov girl walking in on her brother and mother in the bathroom, you can have her hear them moaning through the walls, and what she's imagining as she hears it, and how it makes her feel. The key here is to have her behave like an actual human and NOT go join them for a threesome.

So yeah, again, like the daily life of this girl who lives with her brother and mother who do not hide their relationship from her. Keep in mind, this pov character still has to keep her relatives' secret from others, such as friends. So there is one good idea for tension. Like maybe a friend comes over or something, or they're out and one of her friends has a crush on her brother.
