Story posting delay

Greetings all. I posted a story to be edited/reviewed 2 weeks ago and it's still pending. I understand the world is kinda upside down nowadays, but is it typical to take that long before a story gets approved?

Make absolutely sure it's in the "pending" folder and not the "drafts" folder. It's easy enough to click the wrong button, and that's been the reason for about half of the delayed postings. ( Less so recently, but still worth mentioning, just to cover the bases )

The other half is where it's fallen through the cracks. You've got two options there. You can either contact Laurel via Private Message ( Her profile can be easily found as the thread starter in basically every thread in the awards and contests section of the forum ) or you can view the story, preview it, and then click submit again.

While this will move it to the back of the queue, it has proven effective in every instance where it's been tried so far at making it visible on Laurel's dashboard after the typical wait of 2-3 days, where it will be vetted as normal.

I have two stories I submitted on 8/7 and they are still pending. I read someone comment that Laurel went on vacation last week. Things are a little backed up. It may take some time. for her to catch up. Hope it's soon those are for teh contest that starts on the 21st.

If I can jump on this, I've had the same problem. I submitted a story 2 months ago now and it's still in pending. Sent PMs, but didn't get anything back. It's getting really depressing, because I triple-checked there were no rule violations or anything. Resubmitted it about a week ago to see if there was some weird technical issue but still nothing

Anyone have any ideas what can be done?

That sounds like a glitch. Sometimes it happens. The best thing to do is resubmit and that should fix it.

The normal time is 3 days, sometimes a little longer if there's a contest or event. The shortest wait I had was same day, the longest was 12 days although if myy current two aren't approved tomorrow then that number will go up.

I (again) clicked on preview and publish but it remains as a draft in my folder. (That's obviously why it's been 2 weeks; duh.) I've checked it several times and several times clicked preview and publish but it still shows as a draft.

My regular file stories are continuing to get posted two days after submitted (including one posted today), so I don't think submissions editor time off is a factor currently.

Also, there's no wait on "editing." The system doesn't do any editing in the submissions process.

In "Works" the story is displayed as a "Draft."
Shouldn't it show that it's "Pending"?

After preview and publish you are taken to another page and have to scroll to the bottom and click Submit for Publication. Then it will show as pending.

Scribe... curious if your two stories ever got posted. I submitted on 8/6 and it's still Pending. Not that worried about it, but I submitted some related stuff after that and now I'm wondering if the stories will show up out of order. Don't want to send a note bothering anyone, though.

They are scheduled to be posted tomorrow. They are Summer Lovin contest enteries so that may have been part of the delay. Although a third story was approved on 8/8 to be published on 8/21. IDK wny it's taking so long RN.

How do you know that it's approved but not posted and when it's scheduled to be posted?

I've only ever seen them go from Unsubmitted to Pending to Posted

When the story is scheduled to be posted, the story is still in the pending tab with the new icon and abve that icon is the date it will be posted. In my experience all new posts go live at about 2am Eastern time. In about 10.5 hours from now I will have 3 new stories live on this site.
