So... I bought a new computer ;)

OK, but now I'm curious about the Pi.

I'm using a nearly 10 year old laptop with a new-ish SSD drive and running Win7.

I'm nervous about the remaining lifespan but new notebook prices aren't fun.

I still wish I had my 10 year old laptop but coffee spew did it in. It was fast and powerful and I really liked it. The new one I replaced it with is okay, but not the powerhouse my old one was. the Pi I own is now almost a tablet, a few more tweaks and it will be. I have added a 7" touch screen and a battery pack that will run it for about 4 hours. I just have to change a little code to get the keyboard app to popup when I touch a field that requires input.

I too ignore the incoherent post from whoever it was.

I can't do touch screens. I need a real full sized keyboard and at least a 15" monitor. This one is 17 and I'd like to have a 20" or larger.

Well the PI does have USB ports for keyboard and mice and an HDMI port for a monitor. I used to have it linked up to my monitor and keyboard via a sharing unit that I could switch between my desktop and the PI.

But then I put Linex as a second boot OS on my desktop and hardly used the PI. That's when I bought the screen for it, so I could use it while I was not sitting at my desk. Since then though I have purchased a good tablet. The PI has been relegated to a hobby toy that I use once in awhile.
