I am wanting to start recording me reading erotica. Strictly audio. No video at all. (Mostly because I'm suuuuuuuper fat and insecure about the sexual appeal of my looks) I've had voice and diction lessons for years, and, frankly, I have nothing going on because of Covid.
I was hoping I could get permission from some authors to record their stories and post on a website I'm working on building. (All credit will be given to the author and this site; I'm just a mediator)
Any category, anything goes. However, I prefer to read from a woman's point of view, as that is within my natural vocal range.

Of course, I would let you have a listen before posting. I encourage and appreciate feedback. "Too fast here, longer pauses there, etc"

1. 'Insecure' is in your own mind, and that's fair enough -, but what it also means is that you are not 'taking steps across the road' to interact with those people who find this body-type attractive (and there are plenty such individuals, but they too, are insecure because it tends to 'go against' the societal 'pop' mentality of what 'attractive' means);

2. Yeah sure you are welcome to anything I have done here - but it may not, or might not, suite your styles... ...at the same time you are welcome to have a look, and also, if you want to modify and re-arrange so that it is easier to turn into an audio product, well, go for it.

The few stories I've published here are written in a male first-person format, and I think they'd be best read by a male.

But I'm working on an I/T novel that's written in a first-person female format. As a male, it's turning into a fun, interesting challenge, and my wife is helping me use the right "voice".

The main character is a strong middle-aged woman with self-suppressed sexual needs - and the story is about her breaking away from the "PTA-Mom" mold, and exploring her natural sexuality. It's weaved into a parallel story about her business life.

I'd be happy to work with you on the story, and eventually have you read it aloud. I'm a constant reader (listener?) of audio books, so your idea appeals to me.

Yeah, what TPenny said. I only have one so far, more to come. I'm just a big supporter of audiobooks, and more accessibility is always a good thing. And yeah, letting folks listen first is excellent.

Have you ever looked at many of the radio presenters and compared their voices with their looks? Or those who do the voice overs for tv shows? With many of them their physical appearance doesn’t match up with their voice. With some of them it’s their natural voice but with others, particularly women, they are able to alter their voice to make it even more, for a better word, sexier.

You only have to listen to some of the cookery programmes now and compare the voice over with what it was like years ago. Although years ago it was usually just the voice of the cook. They are deliberately chosen because they can make something such as making a bacon butty sexy.

In the 1950’s their was a British glamour model/film starlet called Sabrina (Norma Ann Sykes) with blonde hair, big boobs etc who had appearances on tv shows and minor parts in films because of her looks. In the 1980’s I had to regularly call another company and the lady I dealt with was called Sabrina. Whether she was named after the model, or not, I have no idea. I wanted the telephone conversations to go on for hours because her voice, even though we were discussing her companies products (nothing to do with the sex market), made my toes curl because the image I had of her was of Sabrina the glamour model.

I’ve listened to radio voices over the (many) years I’ve been in this earth and my imagination has run riot on many occasions. Then I’ve seen a picture of the lady and a certain part of my anatomy has died.

So forget about how you see yourself and go ahead and record. I have listened to my recorded voice, on both radio and tv, and I think it’s terrible but then when I visit the USA, which I’ve done many times, my head expands every time I’m told, “I love your English accent. I could listen to you talk all day,” and believe you me my looks aren’t above average.
