After a particularly long and onerous call to a financial institution one day which seemed to be never ending, I made the comment “will this call take much longer? I’m losing the will to live”
Within a minute of the call actually ending the police were on the line asking about my state of mind. They had received a report that I was completing suicide

That's actually... Kinda sweet. The agent may have completely lacked a sense of humour, but at least they had compassion and social responsibility.

I had a complete stranger from my bank phoned to ask about security. I responded to say, 'If you're my bank, why are you phoning me?' and hung up. I then got an email from the same person saying they had tried to contact me on my phone... No wonder banks lose so much money to fraud when they have such shit practices
