Low-bid contractors with iffy foreign workers will produce stuff not up to Tromp's standards (like pianos). He'll refuse to pay for them. That'll keep costs down.

This the president who doesn't believe his intelligence agencies when they say Russia meddled in the US elections, yet he wants to rely on them to identify targets for a nuclear strike.
What could possibly go wrong? :rolleyes:

You don't read very well, do ya?

For the past three years or so Russia has been building an arsenal of low yield (tactical) nukes. We don't have any. With the collapse of the Soviet Union we destroyed our stockpiles.

Russian military doctrinal thinking is that in a limited land war they would be able to use tactical nukes with impunity because our only possible response to such an action on their part would be to start an all out nuclear conflagration because that's all we have, mega-yield weapons. So by replenishing our supply of tactical nukes we in effect stale-mate them and their doctrinal thinking.

On a side note Trumps moves in regard to Russia continue to completely undermine the notion that he is somehow beholden to them or subject to blackmail by them. His actions don't fit the premise yet the premise marches on.
 
Well, sure, Russia has just had a radiating accident doing this. Why not Trump's administration too?

It's about time, but old news. The upgrade of the arsenal has been planned for years.
 
If Someone

starts a nuclear war such as Russia, China, or North Korea then this planet will end up lifeless as in the movie On the Beach. Radioactive fallout was so heavy it poisoned the entire population. We don't need any more nuclear weapons. We have enough to destroy our planet as it is.

How quick they forget that during the real Cold War we avoided all out war through the prism of MAD. The only way to insure peace is to have a balance of weapons to make an exchange Insane and would leave both countries destroyed, hence peace through strength. Being prepared would avoid war and make such an exchange insanity. It’s the only option available till China and Russia consent to a nuclear arms treaty and agree to a verified weapons dIsmantling.

Young people aren't educated these days as to why these weapons exist, and why they must continue to exist in credible operating condition.:(
