I need some help with a current story. The author discusses his rape when he was underage and feels that it is necessary for the reader to know this for the story.

I know Literotica does not accept underage content, and have told him such but he is rather determined. Is there a way that he can reference the trauma so that it fits the guidelines? Or will it always be a hard no even if the author just alludes to the fact that they were raped when they were younger.

The rules generally involve sexual conduct. If he can find a way to make reference of the crime without specific details that might arouse anyone, it should pass.

A story can get by with a simple statement, "He was raped when he was sixteen," but that's it. As soon as it goes into a longer description, it will become problematic for the eighteen year rule as well as the non-consent rule. This could be doubly tricky.

Lit's not necessarily the best place for catharsis, which from your brief description, this might be. But the only arbiter is Laurel - the quickest way to find out is to edit with sensitivity but knowing the two rules, and submit the story. You'll find out from the source whether it will pass.

It's conceivable you might get away with the bare statement "I was raped. I don't want to discuss it beyond that." (Notice the "when-where-by whom" is ambiguous.) And the shocked other characters present then respect the request while privately drawing their own conclusions (maybe indicated by raised eyebrows or frowns?) WITHOUT any authorial speculation or discussion about what conclusion(s) they may have reached. Frankly, even something that vague may not fly. It's a lot simpler to just have it happen when s/he's of legal age.

This isn't a matter that's up for debate. It's the site's policy. They're NOT going to "let it slide, just this once." Not ever. That has been made plain at least once a month for years because people keep asking--and, they keep being told "not a chance." Live with it.

Yep. You can mention that somebody had sex before 18 but not get into details.
