I know in LIT story submission is pure text based. There are other sub forums on areas like erotic drawings, art etc.

Is there a sub forum for any photo posts related to stories or just in general to post images or collages where a story or series may be referenced?

I don't think there is anything like that.

What I did was start a thread here, in which I posted pictures of places that I referenced in my stories, along with snips of relevant text.

EDIT: Thanks Melissa. I might consider that. Brutal One.

Your images were very good and yes would have added a lot.

This might get dicey re copyright and private rights when the photos are of people. The Web site might not want to get into that any more than already is happening.

Fair point! I will probably can the idea. It was just something I was curious about. Brutal One.

There is the whole "Illustrated" category. You can publish photos and other illustrations with your story. I believe you have to be the copyright owner for all photos and illustrations.

Technically he has a good point

But...

Go to the fetish forum and threads like "on off pics' where there are countless pics of real women, not porn stars, that were most likely posted here and elsewhere with no permission by an asshole BF or husband and now falls under the growing revenge porn laws.

Think about the am pic thread here...how many of the ''women' posting pics are really their husbands/BF's getting a sick thrill out of guys admiring their partners nude pics..again posted without permission.

How many guys on the am pic forum say "my wife wants to know what you think' when really the wife has no idea her naked pics are all over this and other forums.

I guess what I'm saying is lit obviously doesn't give a fuck because they never think they'll get in any trouble. I know for a fact a few years ago a general board member posing as a woman, was outed as a man and his wife contacted the site wanting those pictures pulled

And they are still here to this day.

Classy, huh?

I wouldn't worry about posting a picture of a public place or even a person as long as they're not nude...not that it would matter here, but personally I would never do that to someone.

This was included in my post: ". . . any more than already is happening."

There's no problem with this as long as you own the rights to the photos and have the right to publish them (if they involve other people). Just use good judgment.

The problem is in demonstrating to Laurel that you own these rights (yes, if she asks--and not asking is accepting a big risk).

I don't think she does (I'm not sure). I think we all bear personal responsibility for making sure we have the right to images we use. There's really no way for the Site owner to assume responsibility for proving this other than requiring individual users to attest affirmatively that they have such rights, and providing a mechanism for receiving complaints and responding to them when they are made. It's much less of an issue here than it is at websites that are primarily photo sites.

By law, the Web site (a publisher) is equally responsible to the author to assure copyright has been honored (Section 501 of the U.S. Copyright Law code. Anything published to the story file side here was published by Literotica, not the author). Literotica is, in fact, most at risk here. Literotica can be tracked down to sue much easier than the author can be and, in the publishing world, the publisher usually has deeper pockets. It's almost always the publisher who gets sued on copyright violation. As I noted, they are equally liable to the author.

That noted, this is Literotica's problem not mine. I just point to the risk.

That may be getting lost in the shuffle but it's where I was going to direct the O(P.

Cheers Gang!

Thanks for the comments. I guess it is too much of a minefield. I’d agree it would be irresponsible to post an image if the person featured would feel aggrieved but if using an image say a stock one it may be okay. I could kind of get a more sanitised version but it would always involve an image of someone unknown to me or anyone. I think the most useful reply was from Melissa Baby as her images were of the locations which was pretty cool and probably all her own pics.

If I was a decent enough artist the other option would be to draw but I am not.

I may think about the locations but the main idea to use what would be ‘erotic’ rather than ‘pornographic’ images of what I used to describe the characters e.g clothing is still fraught I think with the rights issue even though there is probably a 0 percent chance of the image being viewed online probably in that usage by the person it is. Brutal One.

There are places on the Internet that one can find stock, noncopyrighted photos of places or things that you could use without concern for permission.

You can also link to a website with photos of a location. That does not infringe copyright.

I had some illustrations I created for a series that I posted in the My Artworks section.
