After the recent clamp down on any forms of dissent in HK by China, the UK government has said it would welcome up to 300,000 migrants from HK. The HK population of about 7.5 million is highly educated with many marketable skills that China will not want to lose.
In addition to UK, Taiwan, Australia, Singapore and Canada (I think) have all indicated a desire to attract skilled Hong Kongers. The highly skilled pool available is estimated to be 1.2 to 1.5 million.
Do you think that your country either would or should try to recruit these skilled people on the basis that smart achieving people tend to create further jobs in their wake?
