I know there are plenty of music threads, but lately I have been eating up a new band. It's bluegrass/rockabilly. It's a bit twangy but can be really smooth too!

Interesting sound. Reminds me of what country music used to be but you are correct about the rockabilly influence.

I hope this topic takes off. If so, I'm probably going to post a band a day for the next month or so. Unlike Richard's band, which I'm guessing most don't know, none of these will be groundbreaking names that you haven't heard of but maybe it will remind you to listen to them.

Because Richard talked about speaking to his soul, it made me think of one of the most soulful artists I listen to: Elliott Smith. I find his music hauntingly beautiful. He was taken from us too soon.

One of the really interesting things is that many of his songs, like this one, have partial or full alternative lyrics. The 3rd one has a version that is completely different.

This last song is recognized as the most descriptively brilliant songs about addiction and let's you know that inside his brilliance lived a tortured man.
