Adult Dating Sites

Hi everyone, first time posting here:
I've read the "rules" and dont think that I'm breaking any here with this so we'll see, I guess...

It just seems like, a few years ago, a person could join one of the major adult dating sites and find someone interesting to talk to, at least. The person was usually several States away and it was doubtful that you'd ever meet but checking-in with them was a fun way to spend a few minutes after a long work day.

On a few occasions I did meet that "sophisticated older woman" that was living close by and have a wild and exciting romance for a few months here and there too, and they were wonderful. On the other hand some of these relationships never developed into anything more than platonic friendships, some of which I still cherish to this day - it was all part of the experience of being on the site.

Yet now, a person has to join a date site just to see who's actually on the site and after you do go through all the question and answer non-sense and give them your email, you then discover that you have exactly two prospects, 1500 miles in proximity to your local area. (Dont worry, we'll refund your credit card) The spam is another issue and all the date sites seem to be one huge conglomerate now.

Some of the major sites, at one time, also seemed to be quite diligent in keeping the site free of spam and trolls which was good because women felt comfortable posting on the site and would actually engage in conversation with a guy - even though it was 70 to 1 odds for them.

Does anyone have an alternative to the major sites? Is there a "mature" adult dating site any longer? Am I a lone voice in the wilderness? Am I preaching to the choir? Have I simply acquired too many birthday candles and "outgrown" adult dating sites? Do I need to shut down my PC immediately now and call Dr. Laura so I can talk it out over public radio, so people driving in their cars can hear it as they drive home from work?

If its just a mid-life crisis that I'm experiencing, you guys can be honest with me...

I met two ex-boyfriends on Match, and Craigslist used to be great for casual hookups... but I always heard that men would have few options and women would have too many options.

Most dating sites suck or are ripoffs. Tinder, POF and Bumble still work well but Tinder is full of liars, POF has a lot of scam profiles and Bumble only lets the bitches do the first message.

I like the idea of being matched up by Hulu/Netflix with people who are watching the same shows as you. There was a meme on that a while back. That way you don’t accidentally wind up with someone who wants to watch science fiction or the History Channel or National Geographic all the time.

Never bothered to look but always assumed Match or someone owned them all. Most are too niche to make it on their own. Back in the day you'd know because you'd see the exact same profiles in the exact same order on the sites. I can't remember who the big dog was then tho.

Is the site "Private Delights" an adult dating site? Got an obvious misdial from someone earlier in the week, who said he saw my profile (?) on "Private Delights". I told him to double-check the number and sure enough, he had misdialed the number in the profile.

Compatible TV viewing is your main criteria for dating? Huh ... I've been seeing a guy for two months now, and I have literally no idea what he likes to watch. We seem to be busy doing ... you know, 'other things'. (I also met him on Tinder. Two photos that were not very information and no text, but he was only 8 km away and wasn't holding a fish ... it's a low bar when you're in a small town.)
