Dear Writer,
Thank you for your submission to Literotica. We appreciate the time and effort you've taken to write a story and submit it to our site . However, we've found that we cannot post your submission in its current form. The checklist below may help you in re-examining your manuscript.

Were there URL links, site addresses, or other advertisements within the story?

Rejection reason as already given -> Websites and usernames not allowed in story title, description and the story itself. Thanks!

Please feel free to re-submit the story after a Volunteer Editor has examined it, or after you've made revisions. You can find a list of Volunteer Editors here.

I submitted the story with Tinder in the title, and the text. Is that not allowed? For the life of me I don't know why this story is rejected (twice, after going through a VE). No URL/websites in the story. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The VE you used apparently did not catch all your mistakes or violations of Lit rules. You might try another VE again. There are some who have been VEs for years with a high success rate. With your success rate plus being so prolific I would think you have a very good editor before.

Tinder is an actual dating site. Putting the name in your title or the body of the text in reference to the Tinder dating site evidently is considered advertisement for the site. Go generic: "A dating site" if you want to get the submission accepted.

I can try that, however a search for Tinder turns up a number of stories with Tinder in the title.

That's irrelevant. Your story has been bounced, most likely because you explicitly name Tinder, so change it as KeithD suggests. What passed Go yesterday doesn't always pass Go today. It's a simple thing to fix, so I'd just get on and fix it - I had a story bounced because I mentioned Tumblr once, so I simply removed that one word, noted that I had done so, and the story was published three days later.

I wrote a story about a Bridal Porector used to haul up a bride's skirts so she could use a toilet.

It was rejected because I used the trade name. I changed it to 'Bridal protector' and it passed.

And I had a story bounced once for having a verified fake dating service title in it. So, there you go. Getting your story accepted isn't necessary controlled by what anyone else has gotten through.

I had a story rejected today because I mentioned a 17yo being touched above her bikini. Silly mistake but I've changed it and resubmitted. It happens!

It's been a while since I got back to this, since the "problem story" was accepted by both amazon and smashwords. Still not sure about why it was bounced. In addition to Tinder, the story also includes mention of Starbucks and Facebook. Is that also a problem?

Rather than revise the story, I've decided to let it go. Next time I'll be more careful about what I publish on literotica.

Apples and kumquats. Amazon and Smashwords acceptances have nothing to do with Literotica acceptances. I think you've been told what your problem is with Literotica acceptances and the easy fix to that. Not much else to say about it.

Other story sites don’t have the same rules as here. Some will still accept subjects totally banned here, and from what I have seen, no one cares about spelling, grammar and obvious schoolboy writing.

Bottom line is, you accept the rules and guidelines here or you don’t, your choice, but if you don’t, then walk away.

You will have received a generic rejection notice - there are half a dozen or so, each couched as a series of questions. You have to figure out what applies to your story, tweak the text, or argue why the rejection doesn't apply.

I know, the nerve of someone expecting consistency. Maybe there would be less of these conversations if the site banned all stories with...whatever rule they're breaking instead of it being based on whether they felt like making an effort that day or if they know the author.

Amazon and SW might see it as satire or maybe just not care.

My thought here is people putting Tinder into google could end up here? Then again you'd think new eyes coming to the site wouldn't be a bad thing

Its most likely the case it is for all 'rules' here. Its based on whim, not any real guidelines. Lit's always been run more like a clubhouse than a business, it is what it is.

In the future just fix the problem, coming here expecting anything but attitude from bootlicks won't get you anywhere.

The OP came here seeking advice, was given it: "Yes, it was most likely the reference to Tinder, change that, you'll be fine."

The OP then returns, having (from what I can see) done nothing, but still "isn't sure," so the advice remains the same. The rejection notes are pretty easy to follow - especially once someone has been given advice what to do.

How that then conflates to bootlicking and things being exercised on a whim is just you being antsy, LC. You need to turn your iggies off, mate, you're pining ;).

When my story got rejected I just put it through grammarly then it got accepted.

Thought it was worth a mention.

I am not certain they actually read the stories they reject. I just had a story rejected for a cause which absolutely no basis in reality, they said there' "was possible sexual contact with a minor" when the simple issue was that my character was a teacher who cares about her job. There was nothing like that in the story. So my feeling is they let a parser do a lot of their reading, and toss things out when certain code words appearl.

So will now find somehwere else to post. I believe in the story I wrote, I think it was special. One of my pre-readers suggested a long F.U. latter and turning it into a book and sending it to a real publisher. It's their sandbox, but if they don't actually read the works submitted, then why bother.

I'm quite certain that she doesn't (there's no "they." There's only one submissions editor, handling well over 100 submissions every day). There isn't time to read them all. They are scanned and probably run through some program looking for possibilities. The "send back" (no longer called a rejection, I don't think) poses a "does it?" question, not a "it does" statement.

If you don't think the reason it was sent back actually exists in the story, send it back with a polite disclaimer in the notes section. I've done that with the few "send backs" I've gotten and they'll all ended up being posted as originally submitted.

Just put a note to admin that while minors appear in the story they do not witness or engage in sexual acts. That usually all it takes.

Ther was an author rejected for underage recently and there were 3 mentions of minors, all were flashbacks and none were sexual. He put a note in and it passed.

where do i send the FU letter? I have a story being rejected that I disagree breaks the rule. It's the third in a series and all previous were accepted.

If you send a FU letter, you can count on your story not being posted at all. Or are you just feeling entitled today? Obviously the system thinks you put something in this installment that you didn't put in the previous ones. It's your problem. No one here is going to be able to even start helping you if you don't provide the reasoning given for the rejection. Even then, if you show attitude, don't count on much help.

The OP received polite replies to their problem. I think this is a good time to close the thread before it turns into arguments or attacks.
