Cruise ships

During the early stages of the CoVid 19 outbreak, some of the most harrowing news was the cruise ships full of passengers that were literally stranded at sea with no port willing to allow them entry. Eventually they all were allowed to disembark and the ships left with only their crew members on board. Months later, many of those ships are still at sea with hundreds of crew members and no place to go. With no passengers on board, the crew members wouldn’t have to worry about being professional all the time, and if the captain is cool and the work gets done, why not let the crew have fun? Who cares if some of the crew likes to sunbathe naked? Why not let them all pick their own rooms while they wait for passengers to be allowed back on board? Parties? Why not? Orgies? Sure, I hear it’s great stress relief. I can picture all kinds of stories about people stuck on a cruise ship while the rest of the world deals with a pandemic. Why would they want to dock and risk getting sick when they have everything they need on board?

This sounds like a good idea, but for me at least, it would probably get quite unwieldy to include the entire crew — and the whole ship — into the erotica. Also there wouldn't be much tension/conflict to build the story around.

Perhaps this could be a multi-chapter story with each episode following a couple or small group. Instead of the Captain being all cool about the fun — maybe he's an old scrooge? Thus, the Capt. hears rumors but can never find the culprits. As the time lingers at sea, more couples and small groups heed the call of nature to experience sexual relief. Perhaps, in the end Captain Scrooge too has a moral lapse and succumbs to his carnal desires.

I don't have time to write this at the moment, but I think it could be a decent story. Nice idea

I just can't see that happening at all.

Have you ever worked at a company with a lot of employees? I did. Perhaps 200 employees, although we worked in shifts so not all there at once. We had far more women than men and in the 17 years that I worked there, I was only attracted to perhaps two of those guys.

I don't know how the mix of male to female would be on a cruise ship or the mix of gay, straight, etc. I doubt it would be equal though.

Factor in people who are married or have a BF or GF back at home (or on the ship) and will not cheat.

Factor in the fact that most people do not have orgies or any interest in having them.

And while I've never worked on a cruise ship, I highly doubt that they would let the workers have run of the ship. There would be too much to look after and clean.

Do they have all that they need on that ship? I doubt it. Food will dwindle. They will most likely arrange to get more food that will be brought to them on a little boat that pulls up alongside but... They will be limited to whatever food is sold on the land nearest the boat. They will be stuck eating whatever they can get and that might be just beans and rice. In a situation like that, you'd better believe they won't be feasting on fresh fruit and caviar. They'll run out of soap, cosmetics, etc. Sure stuff will be brought in but just the basics.

Those people probably wish every day that they could get off of the ship and the last thing they'd want is sex with a coworker.

I don't know, there's always the itch you can't scratch. & the confined space makes it to where extreme power dynamics occur. Guys will get into fights b/c they're trapped, and women will generally try to diffuse the tension. What studies have shown is that the guys that ultimately get any nooky under the circumstances are the ones in charge.

I actually read a journal article somewhere about the cruise ships near Philippines in a big group (not even one ship, but like 20, many of them identical sisters, staying in open sea in lose rows half a mile or so apart... a magnificent sight, especially when you shift your perception to account for the grand scale of those "boats" the images included a bit failed to convey for lack of any other points of reference). It made sense because majority of crews was from Philippines so they were as close to home they could be, if or when they would be allowed to go ashore. It specifically mentioned that crew was using the grand rooms normally reserved to guests, and the overall attitude seemed very relaxed. I fail to remember was it mentioned, but I would imagine at least some cross visiting between the ships possibly could take place too.

A story in that setting, I would expect a slow burn, a very gradual slide were step by step the standards of dress code slips to eventually include casual nudity nobody cares about much; flings and romances initially kept secret and very private become more and more visible... and there's all the opportunity for all the shenanigans characteristic for small closed groups of people that can't really choose not to meet each other, have ample amounts of free time, and regime of discipline to adhere rebel against and subvert (not at all unlike high school for example).

My thought

My thought is: Prom and proper wife goes on a girls trip with her/their daughter and some other friends. They get stranded due to the pandemic, and months later they finally disembark, both wife and daughter noticeably pregnant by the same young black man.

I’d start the story at the end like that, and then go into how it happened. Then maybe sequels dealing with the fallout.

It would not have to be cruise ships...it gets pretty boring on tanker and freighter ships. Crews are about 30 people, with a few women as members of the ships crew.

Pirates are a VERY real thing too...

Lots of possibilities, from bondage to non-consent

I proposed a scenario like your second one to a RP partner, but they didn't take it up. Yacht owner advertises for crew and selects a desirable naive young woman to assist him sail across the Pacific. At the second port the rest of the crew come aboard, all men, including the pornographer who will document what happens at sea in his regular diary to subscribers. My idea was a slow burn non-con romp, but any MF combination and mix of relationships will do.
