It was in Powderhorn Park where the Minneapolis City Council officially launched its"defund the police" initiative following the death of George Floyd on May 25. The council dreamed of a "transformative new model" of public safety where community social workers — not armed police officers — enforced the law. Neighborhood residents happily obliged.

But since then, according to the Times, the park has reportedly been taken over by hundreds of new homeless residents displaced amid the unrest in the city, and residents are finding it difficult to stand by their pledge.

"I am afraid," she said. "I know my neighbors are around, but I'm not feeling grounded in my city at all. Anything could happen."

Linnea Borden said she has stopped walking her dog through the area because she is sick of being catcalled, while Carrie Nightshade has stopped letting her kids play in the park because it's dangerous.

Businesses are packing up and leaving post war Minneapolis. Serves them right for disrespecting lives and property. Their 46th standing in business taxes provides little further incentive to remain.

And last one out.....shut off the lights.

Same thing is going on in Seattle.....among other dem controlled cities.

"war?" lol. your yellow steak is showing again.

See?

You are still being stupid.

Sorry you are so stupid, and you can't see what's happening.

I suggest you study. You might take a history lesson in Baltimore.

explain yourself, then. it's right there for all to see. just try to bitch out now.

'Study' is too big a word, and confusing for you?

Minneapolis!
AKA, Baltimore II.
Or, Chicago II, if you prefer.

Or....pick any failed city, and use it.

But... think of all the money Minneapolis will save by not having to pay a police force.

Bronx precinct commander quits, citing ‘no guidance’ on recent reforms

By Craig McCarthy and Tina Moore

June 25, 2020 | 2:07pm

A Bronx NYPD precinct commander is quitting in protest of how the department is handling police reform, The Post has learned.

Deputy Inspector Richard Brea is throwing in the towel after nearly three decades because he says his bosses are not giving him enough guidance on how to get guns and drugs off the street now that the department has disbanded and reassigned its anti-crime unit, according to people familiar with the matter.

Guardian Angels leader Curtis Sliwa confirmed Brea’s retirement to The Post Thursday after speaking with the inspector, who leads the Bronx’s 46th Precinct.

On Wednesday, the Captains Endowment Association, which represents Brea, sent a letter saying CompStat should be abolished because it pressured commanders to drum up arrests — or answer to angry bosses at monthly CompStat meetings.

Think of all the lawsuits they'll have to pay for that result from the destruction they caused when they created the lawless environment in their city.

No problem.

They can do like Adolf Whitmer, and ask Trump to bail 'em out.

Taxes will be raised again... and even more businesses, and residents, will be forced out of Minnesota. It's a death spiral.

Minneapolis has no character except a dying mall, bad pro sports, and nasty winters so a little lawlessness can't hurt.

I wouldn't describe recent events as idyllic. I wouldn't want to be in Minneapolis after dark. I wouldn't want my family there after dark.
I'm not wild about being there during the day.
And then that idiot mayor or councilwoman or whatever said calling the cops and expecting them to respond when someone was breaking into your home at night was "coming from a place of privilege." To clarify, that was Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender.
No, when I pay Minneapolis's high taxes and I call 911 when a thug is breaking into my house, I expect a response. Fucking pronto.
Even after I shoot the bastard.

And you can eat your yellow steak.

One business, 7 Sigma Manufacturing, has announced that they are relocating out of Minneapolis.

Can you name any others?

I personally know of one small grocer that is bouncing.

I can't imagine he's the only one.

You and the other "Progressives" must be proud. :)
