Cremating simply doesn't work for the lay person. It require far too much heat for too long. Burning down to the bones can be helpful as it's far easier to dispose of just bones but it's still extra work.

Jeebus you can't get rid of a body that way, the set up alone would cost a fortune and no real way to hide it. Everyone would know you had it and it'd be the first place they search.

Depends on whether anyone is actively looking for the deceased. There are people the cops don't care about like prostitutes, drug addicts, homeless etc..
