So, What Should Have Happened

Let me start by saying that what happened to Mr. Floyd was disgusting. More of the officers on the scene need to be arrested and charged because they are equally culpable.
From what I've been able to determine, Mr. Floyd was not exhibiting the behaviour of a good person on the day of this encounter. He was apparently showing signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was accused of trying to purchase cigarettes with a counterfeit twenty dollar bill. He was also behind the wheel of o motor vehicle. I don't think they will ever release a toxicology report because it might inflame tensions. Is it known if he really did use a counterfeit $20?
So the cops are called and they listen to the store clerks. I doubt that the cops are able to determine if the bill is fake unless it is super-obvious.
So they approach Mr. Floyd to question him. If the police really thought that the money was counterfeit, what would be the normal procedure? Do they try to determine if it was intentional or is it automatically a crime regardless of intent? What are the cops supposed to do? Is it required that he be placed under arrest? To me, it seems like the type of thing where you would perhaps issue an appearance ticket? It certainly is not a violent crime even thought the establishment gets screwed.
Being behind the wheel of a motor vehicle while impaired is serious. Couldn't the cops have found a way around this, such as telling Mr. Floyd they would not permit him to drive? Perhaps ask one of the passengers to drive? I mean, even drive him home if it were close by?
Is there a beTter way of dealing with bad actors, assuming there was a suspicion of wrongdoing?
You have to do something if a person is uncooperative and belligerent though. IT seems to me that there were plenty of cops there to apprehend and restrain him without killing him. Nothing he did warranted a death sentence and cops are not judge, jury and executioner.
How could that white cop be so blind to the optics of what he was doing?
How do you police the black community without creating "injustice"?

What should have happened is the local cops should have notified the US Dept of the Treasury. Counterfeiting is a FEDERAL offense.

The revenuers would have examined the $20 bill, pulled the security camera video, taken latent prints off the cash, and then issued an arrest warrant which would have been effected by the FBI.

BUT, the Democrat supported cops with the long line of oppression and brutality, in the decades long Democrat ruled city didn't do that.

Stop lynching black folks publicly, without fear of consequence, for starters.

No argument. There is a widely viewed YouTube Video where a black man was handing out campaign literature in a neighborhood . He was doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ILLEGAL. and his civil rights were violated. He was arrested for "disorderly Conduct". Both of those cops should have been fired and held personally liable.

There are states with laws prohibiting the passing of counterfeit money and will prosecute offenders under laws of fraud, forgery, and theft, related offenses. Actual counterfeiting is punished only under federal law. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you. Quite honestly, his intoxication status and driving a motorvehicle was probably a bigger threat to public safety. If he was intoxicated. Who knows?

There are any number of ways to restrain a combative person that don't involve kneeling on their neck and mugging for the cameras like you just backed a prized deer, or leading them down the street by a rope tied to a horse.

Democrat Farmer Labor Party

In this particular case the Minneapolis Police Chief abdicated his duty by not getting dirty cops off the streets. These are the worst of the worst.

This is the same Police Chief the that Minneapolis City Council (12 Democrat Farmer Labor Party members and one Green Party member) and the Mayor (also a member of the DFL) reappointed in 2018. At that time the "bad" cops were already identified.

So, yes, it's definitely President Trump's fault that Minneapolis is horribly run.

The DFL, Police Chief, and Mayor get a pass. Wonder why?

I disagree, they were busy doing their job, they aren't responsible for Floyd any more than if the cop had gunned him down.

The only person responsible here is the cop how was TRUSTED to do his job and do it right, and violated that trust.

He's a shitbag.....they're in every company, organization and position of government.

How do you police the black community without creating "injustice"?

You can't.

They are ALWAYS the victim 100% of the time no matter what and it will always be evil whitey who is the bad guy.

So just give them what they want, and stop policing.

The four cops involved were fired the next day, so something was lacking in their job performance.

Exactly. But the cop was/is a sociopath in this case. Should not have been on the street.

Fully supported by the Minneapolis City Council, Police Chief and Mayor.

Maybe, but if that's the case why weren't they, or any of the other known bad cops with shit loads of complaints against them fired BEFORE someone got fucked up or killed?

Why were the (D)'s in control of the city and PD, and the labor union they support and love so much, protecting them instead of shit canning them???

That was a panic fire to try and satiate the public outrage.

Even better story: a black man got up early the next day after the police rioted. He was dismayed by the empty shells, flash bang shards and empty tear gas canisters littering the street. He got out a push broom and swept all the remnants into a pile on the sidewalk. He got his phone out to take a picture of the debris. A police car was rolling by, they got out, and arrested him for "rioting". He spent 50 hours in police custody, in 23 hour a day solitary confinement before he was released (he smartly used his one phone call to call the local news).

I'm sure our board jackbooted thug BoBoFloFo will approve of this.

no it wasn't, liar. they murdered him.

No, they didn't......the cop who suffocated him did.

He was trusted by both the public and his fellow officers to do his job without causing any unnecessary harm.

If you put the fee fees down and think for a second you'll realize he betrayed his fellow officers every bit as much as he did the public trust.

Firing everyone around him because he fucked up was a political "please don't get too mad!!" move to placate the masses that are feeling, not thinking.

Back when I used to manage retail, this does not happen.

For $20, they wouldn't even bother to do anything, at the most they would come and take the bill. They usually just told us to send it to the bank so it would could be destroyed.

My friend who still manages retail has a couple of hundred dollars in fake bills sitting in his safe from the last Christmas season.

It's small change compare to big counterfeit operations.

Is it the same reason the unions who protected the (D)irty cops until he actually killed someone are TOTALLY being ignored?

All parties - the Mayor, Police Chief, City Council, and Union - are complicit in this particular case.

Had it not been 'George Floyd' it would have been someone else.

Except for the Union the Minneapolis citizens voted the Democrat Farmer Labor Party to run the city.

Wonder why the Democrat Farmer Labor Party gets a pass on sharing blame? Nah. No wondering. Everyone knows why.
