I wore it all day yesterday. Looked at the number of steps and I think it essentially calculated that I am dead.

Good news! Zombies can shuffle so the cost of the step counter isn't a total loss. :)

How in the heck do you get 10,000 steps a day? Do zombies shuffle faster than I can walk!

10,000 steps is quite a lot for many folks, I suspect. Back when I was walking to and from uni, I would put in between 6,000 and 12,000 steps, depending on the day's schedule. But altogether that was maybe 90 minutes of fast-ish walking, or more.

Puppy without a fenced-in back yard. But seriously, after my car accident we started with a goal of 2000 steps a day. Then when I could do that three days in a row without pain or discomfort, we added 300 more steps. Then when I could do the 2300 steps three days in a row another 300 were added, repeat until 10,000 steps were reached. But the puppy and no fenced-in yard get me to 10k most days.

You get used to reaching those goals and then get irritated when your pedometer or watch dies or you forget to put it on. It’s like but all my steps are worthless! And then you ensure your phone can count steps for at least partial credit. ;)
