Well put...
I think Amazon accounts for about 4% of all US retail with about 30% market share in e-commerce. Hardly a monopoly portion and well dispersed among multiple industries.
One could argue that they hold a great majority of influence in the books and electronics market....but I can’t see where that has impacted consumers negatively.
Amazon won’t allow itself to become monopolistic. If it did, the Fed would force it to break up - losing its buying power. WHICH is, right now, only a benefit to consumers and the economy. If Amazon were gouging prices, it would be a different story.
Oh man... look at that... a reasonable response. Holy shit... I didn't think it was possible.
You're obviously more informed than me, but I guess my problem is more pharmacy focused. Even if they only account for a small percentage of overall US retail, it's still a HUGE corporation digging their heels in our nation's healthcare system.
And yes, I realize Big Pharma is corporate... but now, we're not only facing expensive drugs, but pharmacy errors are being suppressed which is leading to an extreme problem.
I guess at the end of the day, this is an issue for the Boards of Pharmacy. But they're infested with CVS suits.
