Eliminating "elective" surgeries, (which just means that it is not immediately life-threatening to put it off) eliminated the need for staff fir the empty beds a d surgical suites and made it impossible t8 keep staff on be ause it also eliminated the profitable procedures that pay for emergency care and the screwing hospitals get by medicare and medicaid.
