Lovers of Asian Women

As an Asian woman, I see a lot of white men with Asian women. Very common interracial pairing. I've dated black, white, and Asian guys. Like Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook has a Chinese wife! I'm attracted to Asian guys but end up finding and dating white men more than other races on the apps like Tinder and Bumble. I asked a new Brazilian girl I know from friends why she gets so many matches and I don't. She said it's because I look cute and innocent in the photos I selected and men want sexy. I would say it depends on what you are looking for. If you want something more casual or "not serious", then she might be right -- vamp it up a little. But if cute and innocent-looking is a reflection of your actual personality, then there's nothing wrong with showing that off and being proud of it. 🙂

Interesting. I personally prefer the cute/innocent look, and I love it when that type of woman goes wild in the bedroom. But maybe on online dating it doesn't push the right buttons because people have such short attention spans and are looking for skin, as you said. This is why I prefer being seduced in person, it's so much more fun to find that chemistry....not hating on online dating but I'm just not as good at it.

Yeah. I was surprised. She said that since I swipe for both men and women on the dating apps, that women will like my cute and innocent selfies, but that she knows through experience that my profile isn't going to automatically appeal to men. She says I look "16 years old" in my pictures. Adorable but "too young" and innocent.

I hate online dating apps too. I'd rather be able to see someone in person first before going on a date with them, but unfortunately finding a date is harder in the dating world. The other day my college friend whose an alum like me said she wishes she dated in college because she knows so many of our mutual friends and peers from our alma mater whose either engaged or married to each other now. And it's true. Almost everyone from our friend circle dated and found the right person for themselves. Perhaps I missed the boat on finding true love in college. I just hope I can still find it period.

And looking like a teen can be a positive. You will retain your youthful looks for many years. Not to sound perverted (we're on Lit after all) but I've always found the nymph look sexier than the vamp/vixen look. Just my personal preference.

But I also bet that a lot of men don't swipe right because of preconceived notions about that. They see a "sexy" type and think she will be an easier lay. They're missing out on a whole other world...the cute "innocent" women who are often even more perverted in the sack. Not to mention often more interesting to talk to. Bonus if she's Asian. :)

I'm not the shy type, I talk to a lot of women in person, sometimes they approach me...but I admit that the nymph type can throw me off if she's shy. I let it get inside my head when I shouldn't. It's because she's not flirting overtly like other girls do.

I used to be more shy but got more comfortable in my own skin over time. Plus I am more confident now than I was even three to four years ago. I look like an innocent nymph type but I'm probably more open minded and sexually adventurous than girls who show more skin than me, who have a vamp aesthetic instead of the babyish vibe I give. I am not saying that to deride The Vamp, I am just more open minded than the average person, in and out of bed, to be honest. Of course, vampy is sexy too. I probably get overlooked on the apps because men swiping typically swipe right based on what appeals to them right away with the way social media can encourage one track thinking. Plus, if there is a plethora of hot women, they think they have more options than before the era of online dating apps. It's honestly hard to gauge my attraction to someone based off a photo. Chemistry is key too. But it's harder than ever to meet new people when dating apps are now almost an sad prerequisite to finding new people to meet. What I'm trying to say is that dating is so hard.

I don't use dating apps, and I have had no problem meeting women. I'm not saying that to brag, just curious what the constraints might be for you.

I live in a major city of the U.S. but meeting new dates and finding a dating pool is hard work. Before the pandemic I met over a dozen different dates in 2019 on and off the apps. But I mainly get one date with a guy and he's not interested in seeing me after that, even though the date seemed to have gone well. My ex-best friend's mom thinks it's because of my Asperger's. I try my hardest to make a good first impression but I guess I'm just still awkward and not sexy enough for a guy to stay interested in, even to get laid with. I'm never rude or inconsiderate. Maybe I might find the right person one day the old fashioned way through mutual friends.
