So I am home awaiting clearance from some doctor somewhere because I flunked the drug test because I take generic Xanax and maybe the steroids I am taking for my sinus.

I had to take the drug test because company policy says if you have any kind of accident you get drug and alcohol tested.

Apparently breaking the back window out of a company truck with a Scrubbing machine while transporting it counts...

They claim I will get paid for my time off if I get cleared.

No good deed go unpunished!

I stopped on the way home and did some grocery shopping...

Now I've got that South Park character in my head... "drugs are bad mmmkay..."

Man, I hope you are doing OK. Did you get hurt? Thinking of you!

Just my pride!
I was rolling about 5 MPH hazard lights on, just easing into the left turn lane when I look into the rear view mirror and the damned thing was tilting over off the pallet and I immediately knew it was going to break the back glass and there wasn't a damned thing I could do about it!

That safety glass fractured into a thousand pieces!:D

I used to have that problem as a heavy equipment operator. I did over seventeen thousand hours without a chargeable accident, that doesn't mean I was not tangentially roped into someone else's accident or an equipment failure.

Always meant three days off with pay till test results could be commu located back from Tucson.

There was this kid who smoked some weed from time to time on his time off. This batty old woman who was blind and shouldn't have been operating anymore was still running a shovel. She accidently grabbed the edge of his truck and tipped his truck on to it side. He was fine from the actual accident but went home and killed himself because he knew he was going to flunk the UA.

My grievance with the procedure was we had this weird schedule and it takes me three and a half days to get into the overtime bucket. I was working about 2,000 hours of overtime a year. Every time this came up... yes I got paid while on administrative leave. ..but some of what should have been overtime became straight time, so it cost me actual money, when everyone knew that the more accurate test down in Tucson was going to clear me.

Company policies sometimes really suck!

As we had only just changed owners no one new the new drug testing policy protocol mandated I had to stay home while being tested!

Surprised me, my immediate supervisor and the HR safety guy!

Three more years and I am quitting!

Sounds like you may have a gripe with whoever tied down your load...unless that was you.

They call it Stormy Monday
But Tuesday's just as bad.

No. Every driver IS responsible for his load I will not try to duck out on that.
But I never thought that damned scrubber COULD roll off that pallet it was tied side to side ans shown no inclination to roll when I loaded on with a fork truck!

Also, I was driving like I was hauling Nitroglycerin ... idle speed was max!

That plastic case MF'er slid right through that rope due to road vibration and was setting just back far enough back to fuck up my day!

In hindsight I should have tied it down myself side by side, front and back but I trusted someones else's work and here we are!:( I knew better,, just didn't do better!

Well, every twenty five years or so I fuck up a company truck a little bit.

And bummer...we don't generally do drug testing here...cripes, we wouldn't have any employees left if we did

I'm starting to think that those who keep saying "the US health system is half of the problem" were right.
You Do see over here people on long-term benzos, zopiclone, ritalin and such.
But not as many.

I never did or would work for a company that gave drug tests. That's more control over my life than you will ever get, I don't care what it pays.

Maybe they do, but at least you woke up.

And got out of bed, got dressed and had something to eat.

It could have been a LOT worse.

Hi there, I know I am new here but I have a lil Knowledge on this subject. I drove truck for about 18 yrs with the union. It’s company decision to test or not. I had a boss who no matter how small an accident was u were tested. Then another boss said oh I trust u u don’t have to test. If you have a scrip for ur benzo’s you should be good. If not ask to go to drug treatment before the results come back
