What's your long term plans

My long term plans haven't changed.

Work a bit more, then:

Do some traveling.

Do more fishing.

Maybe consult a bit for beer money.

Not really. Had to cancel a number of them, and it's hard to plan when I don't even know what will be legal in which state when. But on the other side of this, I'd like to join my dad's cousins at a monthly meal they have in another state. I really should have done that sooner....

My trip to Europe has been canceled and the travel insurance I bought when I booked this in November doesn’t cover pandemics, but they did offer me a voucher- good til August 31, 2020

Build a castle, discover a new chemical element, and check the neighbor's house for bodies.

With the shutdown my revenue stream has become limited. Soooooooooo, I had to take stock of my resources. Given that death can strike at any moment I looked at it this way.

My credit limit is X, and my life insurance is Y. It's going to cost P to incinerate my ass and my outstanding debt is Q.

So the equation works out like this.

X- (P + Q) is my working fun number without leaving any debt behind. The remainder is Z. Y - Z is how much I plan on pissing away as soon as I can. Sorry kids, you aren't getting shit. I can't take it with me so no point in leaving any of it behind. :D

Like Thor I'm going to catch fish and kill things (OK, kill things. At least I have the virtue of being honest about it). So there may be meat left in the freezer <shrug>. They won't starve and they'll get the guns and fishing stuff so they can fill their own freezers.

I fleetingly entertained the thought of making certain some select people would predecease me but decided that was pointless. It would prevent them from suffering all the maladies they've wished on me and mine, karma is a bitch.

My long-term plans now are what were my long term plans last fall, but never made it to short-term plans for this spring, as a result of what has happened this winter. The 2020 summer trip is now looking more like a 2022 trip. We'll see.

Get rid of the person who is costing me fat too much money. Get needed house repairs done. Refinance the house. Catch 22. They say this is the best time to refinance but... I've also been told that they likely won't refinance until the repairs have been done. Need $.

We were travelling to Florida on this Saturday for three weeks, now rebooking for roughly the same time next year. Villas are re-booked but we have a refund on the flights as we can't book that far ahead.

Other than that, I'm still planning roughly 12 months ahead so carrying on working for another year. This time next year I will be thinking again whether to sell up the business and pretty much give up working - maybe do the odd few days of consultancy.

To become a grammar nazi and complain about the verb in the title:

What ARE your long term plans?

OR

What IS your long term plan?

My real answer: To stay alive.

I bought 300 acres along the Potomac River, surrounded by 10,000 acres of state forest. In the next year or so I'm putting a 20x20 log cabin on it. Accessible only by ORV and off-grid. Solar and wind for power. No cell reception.

Just a get-a-way place to go drink bourbon and sit.

This all sounds freaking awesome!
Add fishing to the list and I’ll invite myself to join you.

Taking my planned cruise in November to Egypt and the holy land.
