An anti-lockdown protester who railed against Covid-19 closures in his home state has died of coronavirus aged 60. John McDaniel, of Marion County in Ohio, died at a hospital in Columbus last Wednesday, around a fortnight after he tested positive for Covid-19. On March 15, he railed against Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s closures aimed at stopping the spread of coronavirus on social media, writing on Facebook: ‘If what I’m hearing is true, that DeWine has ordered all bars and restaurants to be closed, I say bullshit! ‘He doesn’t have that authority. If you are paranoid about getting sick just don’t go out. It shouldn’t keep those of us from living our lives. The madness has to stop.’ Two days earlier, McDaniel even suggested that the dangers posed by the virus currently sweeping America had been exaggerated, writing: ‘Does Anybody Have The Guts to Say This Covid-19 is a Political Ploy? Asking For A Friend. Prove Me Wrong.’

Late-night comedy: After protesters called for the end of stay-at-home orders, Jimmy Kimmel said, “It’s like if the Titanic was headed towards the iceberg, and half of the passengers were like, ‘Can you please speed this thing up?’”

my problem is this: he wanted to take the risks and died... i can't take pleasure in his death, but how many others' health has he compromised in the meantime, both from actively ignoring social distancing and encouraging others to do so?

he's one person who has died because of his stupidity; how many others will die now, too, because of him?

Normally, I'd feel sorry for someone dying of a virus. But he died of his own imaginary virus. Everyone else's boogeyman got him bro.

Stew

Help me out here. I'm having trouble shedding a tear

Most of them have a valid point.

Shutting down and bankrupting medium businesses, while permitting only giants like Wallmart and Amazon to procure and deliver essentials thus survive,
is corporate protectionism.

And it's unrealistic to expect Arizona, where social distancing Can be enforced, to abide by the same rules as New York.

Unfortunately, they are being sabotaged by morons like TalkRadio/renardruse& and those who protest shoulder to shoulder.
Like those paid vandals-instigators from the Occupy Wall Street movement.

If more Deplorables volunteer to get sick in order to preserve their "liberties", we can test more last-ditch treatments. We'll need make sure the researchers are dispatched to the South and to the heartland red states to work with all the guinea pigs.

As far as the fools getting other people sick, avoid traveling to the red states and assume anyone could be a carrier as you develop your isolation strategies. I am still working full-time, without having to interact with people up close. Same goes for shopping-- the materials I need for my businesses are paid for on-line, and then picked up without any face-to-face interaction.

It's a new world. It will take a long time for most Deplorables to catch on. They are not very bright.

From what I've read of Trump dishing out tax breaks to the biggest corps, I've have to agree. When did this WH ever give a shit for regular people or small business. Just my observation
