Busy making China pay for the CCP Virus, it seems:

HUGE: The UK Just Dumped China's Huawei in 5G Tech Roll-Out — Citing its Lies Over Coronavirus.
By Victoria Taft April 17, 2020

Western democracies, especially the United States, just heaved a huge sigh of relief after getting word that United Kingdom PM Boris Johnson is dropping the controversial Chinese tech company, Huawei, as the nation's provider of 5G infrastructure.

Although Johnson was in support of the Chinese tech giant laying the non-sensitive portions of 5G infrastructure, he said China's lack of transparency about coronavirus made the communist-run country untrustworthy.

President Trump, Attorney General William Barr, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and members of the so-called "Five-Eyes" countries that share intelligence information, brought huge pressure on the Brits to dump Huawei. The U.S. pressed hard for the UK to dump Huawei because of widespread speculation that China would use the 5G infrastructure to spy and use the remote command structure for blackmail.

Senator Ted Cruz has said that if the UK used Huawei it would be next to impossible to share intelligence information with the ally.

Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen until 2023 because there is no viable alternative yet.

In the meantime, Huawei equipment is confined to non-vital infrastructure so China cannot shut down 5G (or 4G which also uses some Huawei kit).

Not just in the USA, but people suffering from TDS all over the world are finally admitting Trump was right. That’s gotta be rough for them.

Um, the headline bears absolutely no fucking resemblance to the story.

1. I could be saying uninformed things (yesterday I didn't know what 5G is)
but how much difference would that make, when China controls all three major rare earth minerals mines in Canada, Zimbabwe and Australia?

2. A big gain was made, tho by Australia, who just knocked back a Chinese investment scheme in Their mines.

The bottom line to 5G is the control of every aspect of your life.

yes, but China invested heavily in, and now controls most mines.

We closed a lot of ours when the Sierra club cried and we put that above our national interests. We may have to explore and develop our own resources.

You, but some posts got between.

Huawe. Dems and Repubs were in agreement against the company.

They are in agreement against the Communist (in name only) run government. There is NO SUCH THING as an independent Chinese company. No matter what the name you're doing business with the CCP (Chinese Criminal Party).

And this IS only the beginning. The shiny veneer is being ripped off the sons a bitches criminal syndicate.

Yes. The fear in letting the company provide 5G infrastructure is the Chinese govt poaching to spy and shit. So Dems and Repubs were in agreement against Huawei providing 5G infrastructure.

The ChiComms mandate that the ability to snoop and track their
possible dissidents and every company has to follow suit
and then that hardware goes overseas as is...

Y'all can't tell me that you aren't afraid of bad actors like
Trump using this technology to destroy his opponents
through some good ol' fashioned Russian-stye collusion.

;) ;)

Right???

Sorry, my policy is not to talk about the UK,
but it seems that to so many, only
Trump matters, so I talk to
them, not the topic.
