Evening folks!

Back after 40 hours of no power/internet. Tornado tore up my neighborhood Sunday night. We were very lucky with no damage and we're alive.

Lucky is right! Welcome back!!
Tornadoes are fickle: Can hit either side of you and leave you with no damage.

Next door neighbor had a 50 yo tree barely miss their house and took out their fencing. Less than 100 yards from us a doublewide was literally turned upside down killing 2. Trees down everywhere. Street beside us was blocked. Cops at every corner making sure folks lived in the neighborhood. I was glad for that. I'd have hated for Ron to have to use some "persuasion" on looters. We were watching everyone's houses and property.

Had one come close to our house, grabbed the kid and cat, hit the old coal bin. Fortunately, it jumped over our street, landed about 1/4 mile away in the park.

I lived in FL for a few years and here for the last 35 or so. I'd much rather go through a hurricane than a tornado. At least you can prepare for a hurricane.

I had two tornados hit my city 2 years back. They were a month apart. Didnt have power for almost 3 months

Ugh, sleeping with clothes on is so restrictive. Good thing you got a break from that.

But, I guess if you are going to have the house fly away, you should have something on or you never know where you will land.

It was restrictive but warm..lol. Yeah, that whole Oz thing. Our house was built in 1955, back when they used real wood, so the basic structure is very sound. It could probably be moved but it'd take a stronger wind than we had Sunday.

It's been remodeled twice through the years. Before we moved in they did the windows/doors. No glass in the windows at all. We locked ourselves out one day and like to never got back in. Ron finally beat the door knob off the back door. Good thing the dead bolt wasn't locked.

Well this one will. Ron tests that theory daily!

Good morning, hope you're not too tired.

Working from home here in the UK 10.45am. Hope your day goes well.
