Republican Congressman Trey Hollingsworth of Indiana on Tuesday said the U.S. government must always choose a "loss of American lives" over a "loss of our way of life" in determining when to reopen the country's economy.

"We are going to have to look Americans in the eye and say 'We are making the best decisions for the most Americans possible' and the answer to that is to get Americans back to work, to get Americans back to their businesses," Hollingsworth told WIBC, adding that no option will result in "zero evil."

"But it is the lesser of these two evils and we intend to move forward that direction," he continued. "We've got to get Americans back to work, back to their schools, and back to their churches. That's where they want to be when I talk to them every single day."

Hollingsworth reiterated that "these decisions will lead to harm for individuals, whether that's dramatic economic harm or whether that's the loss of life."
Okay so who's ready to sacrifice your life or your loved ones' lives to the coronavirus to save an economy that won't even exist if so many people die?

Starting businnesses with social distancing protocols isn't unreasonable,
because if we go this way for more months, people will starve.

It's the brave morons who defy the basics, who are the problem.

Implementing social distancing is often beyond just unreasonable, it's also often irrelevant due to the fact that the disease can hang in the air after someone sneezes or coughs.

So basically if we do what Trey Hollingsworth says then people are still going to die and we'll still starve. But if we do what he says then it sends a message that human lives don't fucking matter and that, folks, is why America leads the world in infections and deaths.

So... are you willing to die for our economy?

You're preaching to the wrong crowd. Most GB Deplorables have been separated from "loved ones" for a lengthy time due to restraining orders / abandonment / diabetes.

They will take validation for their convictions over any life. Theirs is garbage, and so they extend that same non-value to others'. :(

Not that many people will die.

Even if this was Ebola and it swept the whole country, the economy would exist after it killed 150~ish million.

So... are you willing to die for our economy?

Everyone who's ever left the safety of their home to go work has run that risk.

Not only that but these people will sacrifice whoever or whatever they need to in order to defend their corporate and racist masters.

It's been glaringly obvious at least since 2008 that there is no moral bottom for this bunch. Lt. Governor Patrick saying the old should be willing to die for this economy should have been a shocker to no one ever.

This dude's remarks are blowing up on Twitter. Again, why are so many people surprised? It's fucking Tuesday for the GOP. People like this used to hunt peasants for sport. Hell it goes all the way back to Spartans who used to hunt Helot slaves as training. The only difference is outright peasant / slave hunts are illegal. For now.

You're right, actually.
It's a fucked up situation. You go to work to put food on the table, you get infected. You don't - you starve..

On top of that, Elites fear social unrest.
They already started in France, S America and Iran over fuel prices.
And people are now pissed off with their governments' incompetence in managing the pandemic.

Sounds like you and your helpless commie dipshit revolution should stay the fuck away from Sparta. Move to Venezuela, China, N. Korea or Cuba.:D
