I told you a few days ago in two weeks we'd be looking at a better situation. You snarkingly quoted by post for future reference. Well the future is approaching::rolleyes::D

I'll give you lot one thing-- when you gang up on an individual, then like the best gang of school bullies... you do it in a big group.

You do realize pandemics come in waves? Guess not. People's lack of reading anything historical amazes me. SMH

Stabilising? Flattening curve?

People are still dying in their hundreds and each one affects a family.

What a few days show is not an indication of where the US will finish.

Butters was right to say you ain't out of the woods yet. Some states are well behind New York and could rise rapidly.

So tell us when the next one will be coming.

If it remains historically accurate? 2120. :)

* just for funsies you should read some personal accounts of the Spanish flu. Very similar to what we're experiencing today. And cuz it's fun to read first hand historical accounts of pretty much anything.*

If China reopens its wet markets and Africans continue to eat Bush Meat?

6 months to two years.

Read Daniel Defoe: A Journal of the Plague Year

It is fiction but based on the facts.

In 2018-2019, 80,000 Americans died of the regular flu. The 1918 Spanish Flu killed over 600,000 Americans, roughly six times the number of Americans killed in WWI. The present pandemic may not even be close to either in the US.

As callous as this may seem, from an historical pov it's fascinating to see the way a pandemic was handled and how it affected people a century ago.
It's always fun to read accounts of the first uses of biological warfare, too. I suppose it's not everyone's choice of bedside reading, but to each their own, amirite?
